Looking for amazing Indian or Thai restaurant near the Southern conn campus in New Haven. Quality of food and ambiance is key.
Thanks everyone

I really liked September in Bangkok for Thai food.

There's tons of Indian food in New Haven... Sherkaan, House of Naan are places I'vebeen with no complaints. I likedHouse of Naana lot.

How far you willing to travel? I love Rice pot on State street which is great Thai food, there are several excellent Thai places right around there as well.... Indian food, I have not found anything great in new haven

It's hard to find good Indian food anywhere. India is huge. It's like going to a "European" restaurant in Dehli. If you're just picking dishes that folks will like from from France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Greece... none of them are going to be very good or authentic. If only because you're going to have a hard time sourcing any decent ingredients or finding people who know the techniques.

At least that's how my Punjabi co-worker explained it to me a few months ago.

Naatiya Indian Restaurant in Bloomfield is where my Indian friends go for authentic Indian cuisine in Hartford Cty. Been a few times-excellent. Obviously not a So Ct suggestion.

10000% correct.
Southern Indian cuisine vs northern or even Central is very different. Hard to truly define it as a single style.
I lived in London for a semester and in a block of my flat was 2 extremely different types of Indian Restaurant. Yum.. so spicy

Kamana in Branford is excellent, the chicken korma and lamb boti kababs are some of my favorite dishes there. You will have a fine dinning experience there.
