We need a strong W, defined by:
  1. A balanced offense with effective running and passing, lead by a dominant O line.
  2. Effective execution of fundamentals, including tackling and on-field player communication to avoid self-inflicted errors.
  3. Intensity from the players on every single down.

Just get a win. 2-0 or 200-0 they both count just the same in the record book.

Thank You....I would love that but driving tough for me at 85. I was a season ticket holder back a few years ago. I think Mora should play the Jim Valvano speech he gave to the ESPY award dinner. It is on youtube and I watch it often.. He is dying with cancer when he gave it and his message was "Never give up"! UConn football needs to hear that message.
What if we picked you up and drove you?

How about a great day for tailgating? Weather report not the best as of now.
Improved slightly based on ch30 4 pm newscast today. Rain may hold until later in the day. I am hopeful to not have to lug the pop up tent. Less room for hooch and vittles.

Let’s all agree that last Saturday was a great disappointment. There is no question about that. Many of you thought it could be ugly and it was. It was also arguably the best team we will play against this season AND our first game with a new DC, OC, QB, and half the starters. The potential was there for a really bad game, and it happened.

But the season is long.

So what do you need to see on Saturday against Merrimack to make you feel better about the state of the program?

For me, I need:

  • A win. There is no excuse this week. At the very least we need to win this game. If we can look good while doing it, all the better. But that is not my priority.
  • Competent QB play. Assuming Evers is ready to play, he needs to hit open receivers when available. He needs to look in control of the offense and not like he is fighting for his life. (This is also on the receivers to get open, o-line for protection, and OC for play calling, but I’ll focus on QB for now.)
  • Run the ball. We should be able to run against Merrimack. Period.
  • Tackle. It’s one thing if they are bigger, faster, and stronger than our guys, but Merrimack isn’t. Just tackle the ball carrier.
  • No wide-open Warriors. I don’t care what defensive scheme we run, as long as we learn it and run it well. We’ve had way too many broken coverages over the years regardless of scheme. That needs to change.
  • Good beer. This is the only one I can control, and even that is at the mercy of the Rent. Fortunately, the Rent has a wide variety of beer options!
What do you need to see on Saturday?
This Saturday should be like lSt with UCONN playing as Marylsnd and Merrimack posing as UCONN. An inferior team way out of its depth. If CT does not win by 30 plus it is a disaster.

Last I checked….UConn + said audio only.

I had downloaded the Fox61 app before I think. Hopefully it’s available on Apple TV.

The game is on WFSB-3 (CBS) - not Fox61.

Still waiting for confirmation from the Game Notes on other media/streaming options (UConn+)

From the UConnhuskies.com website: The UConn football program announced that kick-off for their 2024 home opener against Merrimack on Saturday, September 7 is set for 12 noon with the game airing live on WFSB Channel 3 throughout Connecticut. The game will also be simulcast on WFSB's sister station, WWAX, as well as streamed online through UConn+.

UConn and WFSB Channel 3 begin year two of an exclusive media partnership in 2024-25. Last season's game against Sacred Heart also featured on WFSB and WWAX.

From WFSB.com: There are several ways you can watch The WAX. If you have cable TV, the easiest way is to just say “WAX TV” into you voice enabled remote control.

With an Over the Air Antenna – You will have to rescan your TV similar to how you did when you purchased your TV. Once complete, we are on Channel 27. You can also watch it on WFSB 3.4.
Comcast - Watch the Wax on Channel 931 and 1166.
Cox Cable – WWAX Channel 19 on all COX cable systems in Connecticut.
Altice Cable – Altice Cable has WWAX on Channel 113 in New Haven and Litchfield County and Channel 8 in Fairfield County.
Frontier- WWAX on Channel 27
Charter/Spectrum- Channel 795

Well that is quite an offer. I don't know what to say. I live in OS.
I’ll find a game and pick you up and you can have one of my seats. Just need to pick a game in October if it’s not too cold for you. You can direct message me, if you want to do that.

After being completely embarrassed by a UConn football result again I am looking forward to Saturday at the Rent. When you are at the stadium and see all the other fans who show up rooting for the team and hoping for a good result it gives me hope. Not sure there is a fan base in FBS that has been left wondering what the hell has happened more than ours. One thing for sure is it is not the fans fault as to where we are. Let's get a win and build from there.
