Suspended? Kind of bizarre for them to even be discussing it. I mean, is there any national (NCAA) attention or Big East attention over this? I saw on a few other forums fans saying he should be (suspended) for "threatening an opposing teams' fan", so I guess someone, somewhere, is talking about it.

I recall seeing the clip of the exchange - at the time I said something like "I rather wish he'd just pointed at the scoreboard and walked away". Others on here opined that his "you'll get hurt" comment was referring to what would happen from security if the fan came down on to the court.

I think that's a bit of a stretch for what Hurley was saying, given how he reacted when someone whispered something to him, he then realized there was a camera on him. Turned and looked at the camera, and then walked away.

At any rate, the Providence is a cesspool, their fans are Neanderthals, and I can't wish for enough bad things for their fans and program. Listening to Andrea talk about how the fans treated her was eye-popping.

Yeah, point at the scoreboard and then throw this up:

The fans were very drunk and nasty, the entire game towards the UConn team and coaches. Hurley says he was referring to what security would do to the fan not him. Having said that, it is better not to engage with these nuts at all. Of course, that’s easy to say but harder to do when your team and often family members are subjected to endless insults and threats.

Again, the Big East Commissioner seems to be asleep and collecting her pay check when she should have seen endless warnings things are going to blow up and something pretty bad is going to happen.

Chief supported the officials when James Bouknight interferred with a game as a fan and criticized UConn for not escorting him out of the arena as directed by the officials as a result of James ejection. Fans around the bench area and after games have gone too far this season. Somebody is going to get hurt if the Commissioner stays asleep on this issue. No one likes paying for more security, but it is needed.

I was on the side opposite the bench. UConn fans chatted with PC fans. Nothing nasty. We talked at Trinity before the game too. Everyone was cool. We were watching all the other games. So the whole thing surprised me.

It got very nasty by the UConn bench with fans, players and coaches. To the point security had to get involved.

Which is what should happen. Not being there, is it a few idiots out of a few thousand or a few hundred which is a bit different. If there are actual personal threats to the team or to other fans not getting to enjoy the game security should be the responders. If it’s some jerk trying to insult Hurley’s wife who is watching the game from home it’s a big nothing as opposed to harassing her in person. .
