Men LLWS - why Fairfield?

i think i heard them say that it has been Fairfield American thats has had the recent success in LLWS. this years team is National. a lot must have changed - i played in Fairfield National in the late 70's and the league was a big nothing.
not sure we even fielded an all-star team. biggest highlight was being teammates with Meadowlark Lemon's son

Here is the absurdity of the LLWS “Modified” Double Elimination format: If Fairfield loses to the survivor of the losers’ bracket on Saturday, they will be eliminated, with only ONE loss. The team that defeats them will advance to the Championship Game, with ONE loss.

Unlike the College World Series, Big East or any true double elimination tournament final which will have an “if necessary” game should the winners’ bracket team lose the first final game.

How fortunate are you that this is a major complaint of your life.

You’re absolutely right. I guess the advantage is the extra rest and possibly pitching line up. But I agree. Can’t call it double elimination if it’s not.
