Live Stream of 2013-2014 Uniform Unveiling in Gampel Today at 1:30 p.m.

STORRS, Conn. – Today the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics will provide a sneak preview of its new uniforms for the 2013-14 season as a part of the new visual identity announced last week. The showcase will take place in the arena of Gampel Pavilion at 1:30 p.m. and the event is open to the public. Fans who are unable to make it up to Storrs can watch the event via live stream on UConnHuskies.com.

The event will be emceed by the IMG/UConn Radio Network’s Joe D’Ambrosio and will include participation from head women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma and head men’s basketball coach Kevin Ollie.

Several student-athletes will be modeling the new uniforms, including Mamadou Doudou Diouf of men’s soccer, Alicia Angelini of field hockey, Andrea Plucenik of women’s soccer, Andre Blake of men’s soccer, Brant Harris of men’s hockey, Dana Hughes of softball, Connor David of baseball, Bria Hartley and Kelly Faris of women’s basketball and Yawin Smallwood and Lyle McCombs of football.

I was wondering about that too, but then thought maybe a) they were the two that didn't have a class then or b) the Nike prototype uniforms fit them and no one else!

Just watched - the uniforms are very nice - seem more fitted than previous bball uiniforms. Also liked the husky logo woven into the soccer keeper's shirt front.
Will be interesting to see if Nike weaves special designs into the UCWBB uniforms like last year - with the special symbols for the 7 championships -need a new design for gr8ness!

I'm not sure the new logo really works on the football helmet but I'll reserve judgment until I see it on the field.

I'm hoping opponents find it unsettling, but maybe that's expecting too much.

Yeah, she really did have that look. But hey, it's one last chance to see Kelly in a UConn uniform, even if it's not the one she's worn throughout her career. I'm going to miss that.

That was kinda my first thought. I'm sure when they are wearing them next year, winning by huge amounts, they'll seem more exciting.
