Mo with the killer crossover and step-back from 16 feet!

There aren't 10 college players who could do that consistently.

THESA up five with 3:55 to go.

.
Is it par for the course that there's nobody manning the microphone? It'd be nice, instead of straining to hear fans' comments.
Are you seriously complaining about there being no announcer for the live stream of a high school game?

Personally, I'm miffed it wasn't even in HD.

Mo just got called for a bs charge. Should have been an amazing and-1 from what I could tell.

Can't believe they called a charge on Moriah's last drive to the basket.

58-51 with 36 seconds left. Looks like THESA is going to take this.

Really pure FT shooting by Mo, too.

She's played every second of this game, btw.

Congratulations to Moriah and the rest of her team.

Mo had nowhere near the statistical game Breanna had earlier today, but you can see the tools she has. She'll do things from Day 1 at UConn that no one else in WCBB can do. She'll also have her share of wtf plays as a young player. In time, she'll be simply great.

.
Mo's a pretty cool customer at the free throw line, too. She made her last 6 in a row, at least.
.

Wonder who's quicker Brianna or Moriah? Both drive to the basket with reckless abandon. Moriah definitely has the better outside shot and probably better passer as well.

So, I made a lot of comments in real-time, but in summary:

  • Moriah's speed is especially accentuated at the high school level, but she's simply lightning quick. She has a burst that makes you catch your breath. If this makes any sense, she plays PG like a man. And that's a compliment the way I mean it. I don't know how else to describe it.
  • She has step-back shots, runners, floaters, mid-range game, three-balls...and the ability to get those shots for herself whenever her team needs her to.
  • She plays aggressive defense and rebounds well for her size.
  • And when she does rebound, she's headed the other way but quick. She can manage a fast break incredibly well for her age.
  • Really, really good FT shooter. Don't know what her average is for the year, but she should be well over 80% from what I just saw.
  • She passes really well while driving. She's is going to get to spots and do the right thing with the ball with Geno's/Shea's tutilage.
  • She made some huge plays at crunch time and also lead the drive that initially gave her team the lead in the second quarter.
  • You never know in these high school all-star games, but she has a chance to really wow folks at the McD's game. Hope she does.

Anyone have her stat line?
Not the full line, but she reportedly finished with 24 points and 9 boards. Had a few asissts...and a few passes that should have been assists.

Mo had two drives to the basket and one 25 footer that very few college players could do.
I think Mo will show us some things that we have not seen much of before. Not unlike Maya. So will Breanna. Crank up the DVR!

Mo's offensive skills are highly advanced for her age. Understatement!

She does play like a guy. About a year ago, someone likened her to Calvin Murphy. As someone who saw him and once played against him, I agree She may be the most fun-to-watch player in the country.

A backcourt with her and Saniya would have crazy skills to drive opponents crazy trying to keep track of them and in front of them.
