With all the hype of Paige/Clark the battle in the post may be overlooked..Monica Czinano is really good.I hope fans aren't taking her lightly.Although 2" shorter than Liv she has great hands and footwork and is very strong..That move she has flipping it off the backboard from either side is almost unstopable..I'd like to see AE get a move like that next year..So lets hope Liv plays as well as she did against Cardoso..If liv uses her quickness maybe she gets Monica in foul trouble..Geno will probably go with the usual lineup if Nika can play..that way if Liv is in foul trouble AE can take over...the other 3 positions Uconn has a big edge

Fans can take her as lightly as they wish because the fans aren't coaches (except in their own little worlds) nor are they suiting up on Saturday. :)

Iowa is playing their best bb right now. They did manage to lose 9 games this season. It will come down to the game plan and strategy by the Big G and how UConn will execute. Going to be a good game.

I would actually like to see UConn go big early and often with Edwards and ONO in the game at the same time. Czinano may be able to slow down one of them, but certainly not both. Whoever Czinano isn't guarding will bully Iowa inside because Czinano is by far their best interior defender. As much as we're talking about Clark and Bueckers in this game, I have a sneaking suspicion that Aaliyah will introduce herself to the country in a big way tomorrow afternoon.

Liv may have some success fronting her and denying the entry pass rather than getting buried under the basket by her power dribble.
agreed....... that's the only way to stop her because once she gets position it's virtually impossible to stop her getting off that shot which is very accurate...........on the other hand she's not particularly quick getting down the court on the fast break so UConn will see limited post defense in transition...........I'd also be attacking her on the dribble to get her into foul trouble because when she's on the bench Iowa isn't nearly as effective.......

Liv is a finalist for the Lisa Leslie award....Czinano..not on the list.

Even Iowa's losses have been shoot-outs. However in 6 of their 9 losses Monica scored under her average. In four of the losses Caitlin was under her average. In both case they were not severely under average. For the most part they were out scored. Although if I were Geno I would have a look at Iowa's first game with Northwestern when Caitlin was held to 8 points! If UCONN can limit both to just few under their averages then a victory should be had. Defense does not seem to be a strong suit for Iowa since they average 86.6 PTS/G versus 80.1 for their opponents. UCONN has held their opponents to 50.7 PTS/G while averaging 82.8 themselves. Iowa for the season (reg & post combined) shot 52 % however their opponents shot 45%. I feel certain Caitlin's assist per game are inflated by Monica's post presence. Stopping Caitlin will be difficult for UCONN without a shutdown defender. But I believe Olivia and Aaliyah can and must disrupt Monica's game. If this happens I believe Caitlin's game will be disrupted enough to minimize her effect on the game.

Czinano is a handful but im not sure she's faced an opponent as big or physical as ONO. Czinano has excellent touch from around 10ft and will get looks considering how much attention Clark commands. ONO has struggled against good bigs but Czinano isn't exactly a defensive stalwart. It's definitely a matchup to watch. If Czinano has a big night I think Iowa can hang. If ONO can slow her down and produce offensively, I think UCONN rolls.

At this point Caitlin will have 20+. I genuinely believe no one else will have 11+. They will be shut down, we’re a pretty good defensive team and with AE’s physicality and Liv’s height I’m not worried. Plus Geno is a fantastic coach and will have a solid gameplan.

Also Liv and AE are going to test her willingness to run the floor for 4 quarters as well as her ability to cover posts off the dribble from the block to the FT line.
