I also follow a handful of kids that I coached in little league that are on D1 scholarships(My son’s Milford District Baseball team was the most successful team in the town’s history. 3 D1 baseball scholarships and 1 kid going to Notre Dame to play football on a full ride. Sadly my son gave up baseball his freshman year of high school or I think he would have beast. Covid and me moving out after a divorce really screwed him up.

I've gotta add kindergarten sports. Any team sport. It's hilarious watching them all follow the ball together. Soccer and basketball games look like a pinball machine with players being the bumpers.
My town has done away with the amoeba ball for soccer and basketball and instead they have practices all season working up to a scrimmage game at the end of the year. It's still chaos though.

Yes. If Aidan had stayed at SMC, I'd still be a Gaels fan, but even now I have some interest due to my having seen so many of their games the last two seasons, and also the fact I've seen some of their still-current players play at the HS level. I am definitely interested in seeing what 7'1" redshirt freshman Andrew McKeever can do. I saw him play HS ball at nearby Granada HS, and saw him develop from a rather gawky 6'10" soph to what might be a real diamond in the rough.

I was disappointed at first when Aidan jumped into the portal, but quickly realized I was going to become a fan of whatever school he moved to (except maybe U$C).
I went to school at granada for a year before moving. still got lots of friends from there. that school is becoming a powerhouse at that level, but they did lose some key seniors in this class ('24)

College Sports:
  • UConn - Any sport we participate in. Hell, if we had a tiddly-wink team I'd want to win a national title.
    • Men’s Basketball – I’ve had season tickets to the HCC for roughly twenty of the past thirty-five seasons. Been to countless games at Gampel, Hartford and MSG.
    • Football - I’ve had season tickets since they opened the Rent, been to quite a few road games in that time and a couple bowls games.
    • Women’s Basketball – Been to quite a few games at Gample, a handful in Hartford.
Professional Sports:
  • New York Yankees – Since the late 1960’s, when they were among the worst teams in the AL.
  • New York Football Giants – Also since the late 1960’s, when they were out and out terrible.
  • New York Rangers – Also since the late 1960’s, when they were one of the best teams in the sport. Few have suffered as Ranger fans have.
  • New York Knicks – Also since the late 1960’s, when they were one of the best teams in the sport. They won it all in 1970 and again a few years later, playing some of the most beautiful basketball that has ever been played. There has been a monumental amount of suffering since.
College - other:
  • On a side note I was a huge Nebraska football fan from around1970 until about twenty years ago (when we filled the void). Still prefer to see them do well than to struggle but no longer as emotionally attached as I once was.
