C-Phil Nolan--27 minutes
F-Deandre Daniels--35 minutes
G-Omar Calhoun--30 minutes
G-Lasan Kromah--adds size and rebounding to the starting line up great defender 20 minutes
G Shabazz Napier--35 minutes
6th man Ryan Boatright--thats his best position and he still gets 30 minutes to do his thing 28 minutes

C/PF Facey /Brimah/Olander( ) 5 minutes(best man please step up)

F Tolksdorf--I think hes a sleeper and our next off the bench 3 pt specialist 9 minutes
G Giffey 7 minutes
PG Samuels 4 minutes

Im basically playing a 10 man rotation emphasizing 6--throwing in Tolksdorf for momentum 3 point shooting one big to give me good minutes Giffey and Samuels for scant minutes for small rest for the starters.

I think if you switch Giffey's and Kromah's minutes you'll be a lot closer, and I'd be surprised to see Tolksdorf get that much time, unless he's improved his game dramatically.

Oh, and there's no way Boat comes off the bench. Everything else looks reasonable (though not exactly going out on a limb). I think Samuel will be closer to 10 minutes than 4, however.

you're bugging if you think Giffey is only getting 7 minutes a game, and for the umpteenth time, the lineup 1-4 is not changing. The only way I can see it happening is if Omar's hips fall off and so far according to reports he's progressing fine.

Best players play. Giffey is NOT one of the teams top 6--Kromah is a much better version of Giffey. Tolksdorf gets minutes over him IMHO because he can shoot the rock and hes 6-8.

Giffey is a bit player who has never amounted to much--Kromah is proven to be better in the same minutes.

There is just so much wrong here. Bazz, Boat, Omar, Deandre are set in stone as starters and I feel that it's almost a given Nolan will start at center. Giffey is our 6th man and a damn good one, he plays excellent D and does a little of everything.

Here is some fact. Niels is NOT a 6th man type--hes far from it. Hes a secondary player who has little confidence proven over 3 years. Has anyone ever seen Kromah play? Hes light years better than Giffey. Kromah gives us more size and D than Boatright and keeps us away from too much smallish 2 guard line ups. Ryan is the best 6th man candidate on the team hands down.

None of what you said is close to a fact. Kromah averaging 10ppg at GW is not impressive. They played a ton of cupcake cames against weak competition. Niels is a great defender and a better rebounder which is exactly what we need.

There's no way Nolan is going to be able to go 27 minutes a game, the more minutes the more foul trouble he'll get into. More minutes to Olander/Facey (if the NCAA gets their head out of their ). Also - no way Boatright comes off of the bench, especially when Kromah can supply some more experience coming in

Have you seen Kromah play or is your supposition based on what you've read?

Ive seen Kromah several times he's been around a long time. He's much better than Giffey hes way more athletic hes a better defender I dont know what hes NOT better at than Giffey except % FT shooting. After Kromahs rookie year--he was talked about as a future NBA prospect in years to come. He never took off from that rookie year after he had that lifransic(foot injury) but his whole career hes had dozens upon dozens of games that Niels Giffey can only dream about. If anyone says the a-10 is some kind of chicken league--that s insane. The man has avg double digits in limited minutes three years running. This guy is on another level than Giffey. You'll find out soon enough.

Wasn't dissing you. Just wanted to know if you observed him in person. Thanks for the information. I hope you're correct because I really like Niels and if Lasan pans out as you predict it gives UConn a very strong backcourt.

If he can give us 15-20 quality mins off the bench a game chip in 5-10 points and with good defense, rebounding, and ball handling I'll be ecstatic.

Me too. RJ was actually doing well in providing minutes to rest SN and RB until he suffered that shoulder separation. That really forced KO to overplay SN and RB. I like the idea of a better version of RJ to spell the two. Anything TS brings to the table is icing on the cake!

Exactly there is going to be some loyalty to Niels Giffey but this player is going to play over him when all is said and done--not a bad thing for Uconn. Now its in my humble opinion that Kromah might be better suited to start to keep us away from the two smalls in the back-court especially with what we have upfront. We need Boatright to play 27-30 minutes for his scoring--but I think it will end up as a sixth man of the bench for balance.

I think the only competition between LK and NG will be at the 3. NG will mostly be playing the 4 and LK will mostly be playing the 2. I think KO will will always keep RB as a starter just for team chemistry. If opposing guards are having their way shooting over UConn's two "shorter" guards, then KO will make the substitution.
