Today, we draw it.
I expect that I will either be made miserable soon after lunch or that I will be made ecstatic.
It is now too late for moral victories or taking solace in signs of progress; while the chance for a deep BET and/or NCAA run appears small, it will appear much smaller if we can't beat a solid, but not stellar, Marquette team in a must-win game on our home floor coming off a big win against a patsy.
Today is the day. The men have yielded, and folded, and been pushed back. Dig in here. Make the last stand here. They are the imperial guard, we're in the King's ante room. There is no retreat because Caesar crossed the Rubicon and burned the bridge.
What has gone before is now moot, and all that matters is what happens going forward.
If we beat Marquette, in any manner whatsoever, including forfeit because Buzz's head won't fit through the Hartford Civic Center's Zamboni entrance, then that will be a step toward defending the line. To the handful of mouth-breathers who will come in here and bitch about a 3 point win, the Kentucky board can be found behind the 84 Ford 150 lacking doors and wheels.
This may sound melodramatic. Perhaps even histrionic. No matter.
Remember who you are. You are Huskies. Winning.
