Leaving Oklahoma for USC. Apparently not everyone thinks this was a good move for Oklahoma.
I, too, think that having more money than God is a grave problem.

Newsflash: you can take the USC job AND think it's fine for OU to go to the SEC.

You heard it here first: Oklahoma will never win another conference title or go to another CFP game once it is in the SEC unless the CFP expands, and even then it is unlikely to go to the CFP.

I never got why the amount of TV money a school makes is more important to some posters like you than whether the program is successful. It is a college athletic program, why do you care how much money it makes? If you want to cheer for someone else making money, you should buy stock. That way you make money too. Newsflash, you can't get paid from SEC schools making money.

There is no doubt that Texas and Oklahoma sacrificed an easier path to the playoff for more money. Look at the way Miami, Virginia Tech and then West Virginia have fallen since they have left the Big East.

The schools left behind in the B12 may see their annual payout get cut but they now have a much easier path to the playoff and may end up getting the last laugh. Certainly for fans wins and losses and championships are more important than annual payouts. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Oklahoma State becomes more successful than Oklahoma over the next 10 years.

I would like to see UCONN join CUSA (football only) if invited. The easier schedule and easier path to the proposed 12 team playoff has its perks over our current "independence" (street beggars).

Nice job changing the subject. You said Riley was unhappy with the move to the SEC. and then provided no evidence to support the assertion.

The evidence is that Lincoln Riley was the coach of Oklahoma, Oklahoma switched conferences, and now Lincoln Riley is not the coach of Oklahoma. That is pretty compelling evidence.

Conference realignment is all about money, not wins or what's best for the fans. Oklahoma was the big dog in the Big 12 which they might share with Texas, but not in recent years. They could easily go through their Big 12 conference schedule with 1 loss. When you go 11-1 every year and have a high ranking, fans and recruits are excited. In the SEC, I think Oklahoma could start to decline and become a middle of the pack SEC school. Since Oklahoma last won a championship, the SEC (including Texas) have won 12 by 5 schools: Alabama 6, Florida 2, LSU 2, Auburn 1, Texas 1.

Sure, Oklahoma will make more money in the SEC, but will they win more games, be ranked higher, and fans be happier? No.

Here's a crazy stat. In the Big 12, Oklahoma had the 2nd highest home attendance in the conference. In the SEC, Oklahoma would rank 9th below Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, and Florida.

Did you see what they gave him in salary and perks? Its an unreal contract. That colleges pay their coaches that much and still try and hide behind the curtain of amateurism is lol funny. No sane human would turn that down. Brian Kelly just left ND for LSU because these contracts are insane.

Show me where I said that.
1st you have to accept he left because of the SEC. Everything falls into place after that. I mean Kelly left ND for LSU and no one had an easier path to the playoff than ND.

If you are the winningest HC in ND history with not much else to accomplish because you found the ceiling then LSU is a step up.

If you are the OU HC and you can go be a big fish in a small pond then USC is a step up.

The SEC is the biggest stage with the biggest payday. This isn’t a sign that the league is on the downswing.

Always said Texas and OU should have joined the PAC-12, but they decided to chase more money.

A decade from now, OU and Texas fans will regret this move. Both will be middle of the pack teams below teams like Georgia and Bama.

Missouri and Arkansas fans always have their "SEC SEC SEC" chant when things are going badly. So they have that going for them.

When we went to the Pizza Bowl the S. Carolina fans were "SEC! SEC!" all day. Never USC.

And in the stands that day, There were a bunch of Birmingham based Bama fans rooting against South Carolina & heckling them in the parking lot after the game was over. There's no such thing as conference loyalty.
