It's a fair take. Just clips of both. But....the whole premise of this thread is that Newton is so good that this is a "good trade". There's no evidence of that whatsoever. Can't possibly evaluate this until you see what Floyd and Diggins become and what Akok does when he gets a fair chance.
One of the difficulties is trying to compare different situations. And maturity levels. Hilton Armstrong the senior was way better than Hilton the sophomore and nobody would’ve moaned a lot if he’d had a transfer portal to jump into after his first year. Too many kids jumping at the first chance to getaway from not being the one. Too broad a generalization, I know, but the sheer size of the transfer numbers when you consider is triple the size of the number of D1 programs. Granted grad transfers are sort of a different situation. Even the idea of a grad student having eligibility is a fairly modern invention.

We shall see in 365 days if it was the steal you feel - we all hope so
A few questions
How much did we know about Newton 10 days ago? What are his stats in the NCAA tournament games he has played? What is his assist vs TO ratio as a PG? He can score but can he be the QB this team needs?
was considered one of the best guards in the portal.
i'll take it
