Great game against a solid team yesterday. Reminds me a lot of Jim Calhoun's teams. They fought hard for every rebound and played solid defense. At the end of the game, they knew what they needed to do and they did it.

I can't think of any player to single out as having played poorly or not playing hard. Omar missed a couple of shots but they were open shots and two of them rimmed out. I think he is on the mend. Terrance Samuel is looking better every game. Yesterday he was in there at crunch time. That tells me that KO is getting more and more confident in him.

The hallmark of JC's early teams was that, although they were not loaded with first round draft picks, they consistently over-achieved. We did just that yesterday.

Not sure this team "over-achieved" but they definitely played hard for a full 40mins. I still contend that they will be a very tough out deep in the tournament and if they bring that type of defensive effort, they can beat anyone. Name one team, outside of maybe SMU, who wants to play UConn.
Honestly, I felt the same way about Cincy. I never was a Mick Cronin guy, but he seems to be a perfect fit for that team, that school, that city. His team, much like UConn's over the years, has definitely taken on the personality of their coach. Good for them. Better for us!
