He always was. This kid is very, very special. Proving to be wayyyyy more than a shooter.
Shame he will also be here for only one yearHe's like a giant Cam Spencer
I doubt they would be matched up with each other that much. Although having Flagg chase him or Karaban all game would be interesting.I kind of want to see Duke in the tournament, just to see him and Flagg go up against each other. That would be an interesting game within the game, they won't suprise each other at all.
To be honest, that's what I've been kind of been envisioning for the perfect storyline since Maui. A matchup in the East Regional Finals of #1 seed Duke vs #3 seed UConn and the underdog UConn takes out the media-darling Duke team to go to the Final Four with Liam outplaying the golden-child Flagg that has been anointed by the media and overshadowed Flagg at Montverde. I can total see the chip-on-the-shoulder mindset from Hurley and Liam going against Duke and Flagg and game-planning for that one. Seems like it is destiny.I kind of want to see Duke in the tournament, just to see him and Flagg go up against each other. He was spectacular last night. He was what Karaban should be in games like that. Going to have to start getting used to the idea thats not AK and it may be McNeeley who becomes "the guy" by March with AK in the more comfrotable role as a secondary option. This kid is very, very special. Proving to be wayyyyy more than a shooter.
AK will have his games where he leads us and he's the best guy on the court but McNeeley is our best player. AK is awesome with his shooting, cutting, leadership, blocks but Liam has more things he can do on the court. He was spectacular last night. He was what Karaban should be in games like that. And a storyline the network and NCAA would like to set up.To be honest, that's what I've been kind of been envisioning for the perfect storyline since Maui. Let’s be fair to Flagg please. He was anointed by USA basketball and NBA players after working out with the Olympic team. That’s not just being a media darling. To be honest, that's what I've been kind of been envisioning for the perfect storyline since Maui. 26/8/4 and no turnovers is crazy in a game like that at this point in the season as a freshman.
He reminded me of Kemba a bit - like the first game I remember thinking this kid is different…
Yup. Once McNeeley finds that 40% stroke - look out. What's great is I don't think he's found his shooting groove yet. What's even better is how good he is at taking the ball to the rim.
What gets me about this kid is how he doesn’t settle for shots. He’s not afraid to mix it up and draw fouls. For a Freshman, this is highly unusual - such a knack for what the team needs. He can smoothly knock down 3’s, play D and then crash into the lane.He is similar to Andre Jackson Jr as a freshman and to DC. Every analyst quickly noticed how good his game is and how he impacts the game.
Well, last night I think it’s fair to say he’s found his shotWhat's great is I don't think he's found his shooting groove yet. What's even better is how good he is at taking the ball to the rim.
