That I really like. She seems eager to try be a "ring leader" of sorts with future UConn recruiting.
blakeon18 - no prob .. I will definitely look to share thoughts moving forward.
for Evaluation thoughts, as for an extensive one... I would prefer to wait a bit. I would like to see her in person once or twice more against the Nike EYBL competition. the first leg of that will be in a couple weeks in Hampton, VA
I am hoping / expecting to be there. Will come back with thoughts. But from my viewing to this point, it seems accurate to suggest that at minimal she should be an Impact "Sniper" with a Quick release and obvious legit Wing size. She also brings a level of Toughness, Physicality in the lane...
( Drives, playing through contact, Rebounding, even Posting up some. ) .
On the high end, I can envision her being versatile, 3 level scorer.
I would like to see some mor eof her in person, to evaluate her Defensive capacity, potential... i know in talking with her a bunch prior, she has the "mental appetite" to be a good defender. I also know she already welcomes taking Charges, getting on floor for loose balls, etc. But need to assess her capacity to slide feet vs D1 talented caliber kids
Her distinguishable energy, personality also shows itself on the court
I have developed a good rapport with her parents. ( Quality people ! )
Even they remark how fascinating it is how popular Lexi is amongst other players around the country. Lexi certainly provides an infectious Personality, Energy.
She seems eager to try be a "ring leader" of sorts with future UConn recruiting.
Coach Bill, I join blakeon18's request that you continue posting updates on Lexi, and providing us with "fresh" fodder whenever its possible. We would greatly appreciate it. As blake said, you've become must read in a very short time.
Of course we all hope that Lexi follows through on her desire to be a "ring leader" of sorts. It would be wonderful if she could persuade some of her friends to join her at UConn.
Thanks again, We look forward to hearing from you.
If Lexi has the type of personality that makes other kids want to play with her, that sure sounds like one Kaleena M. Lewis. I hope Lexi pulls in a bunch of good players for us.
Am I right that UConn players don't tweet during the season? hope it's true. wish it were true for every athlete....
Who said Williams is a UCONN lean?As Coach Bill mentioned...Christyn Williams, a UConn lean, is playing AAU ball with Lexi this summer
Who said Williams is a UCONN lean?
Who said Williams is a UCONN lean?
That's my thought based on several things, first I believe she has already made an early visit to UConn on her own dime plusa look at her social media where UConn WBB stories start on the masthead (photo of 10 championship Trophies) and continue down the page....that's more UConn info then on any other recruit's page that I have ever seen before signing.....notice I said lean, I didn't say lock!!! She still has a couple of years to go but she is clearly thinking quite seriously about the Huskies...Would love to know what CoachBill has to say about Christyn and UConn...
My bad...CW didn't go all the way to UConn: "
