My Name Is Death - Red Wanting Blue

About the death of her sister.

Sister Heroine - Beth Hart

This song is about the Easter Uprising in Dublin in 1916. There is a reference to the Wild Geese, Irish troops of the 10th Division who suffered 70 % losses at Suvla Bay and Sud el Bahr, the same battle in Gallipoli referenced in the beautiful Waltzing Matilda version in a previous post. The British under Winston Churchill sent Irish, Aussie, Kiwi, Indian, and Canadian troops to their certain deaths in a vain attempt to seize the Dardanelles for the British navy.
