Let's Go Gators!

People are saying "well I don't want the SEC or Big 12 to win and I like the Big 10's losing streak and I hate Duke" and I get it but UConn can't win every year and that's basically the entire rest of college basketball.

Solution is only have BE teams win the championships.

I don't care about losing to the eventual champions. We should be past that as a program.

I remember what Houston's arena looked like when we played them early on in the AAC. This is a comeback from zero.

Go Houston
That Houston arena looked completely empty those years. It seemed their fans stopped being fans of the program some years after Hakeem Olajuwon left.

Show me where it's written we can't win it every year? J/K.

That may be true, but it still is what I want to see happen.

I think it’d be nice if Houston wins because I like Jim Nance (Houston alum I learned this FF) and he likes the Huskies.
I’ve had an unbelievably good (lucky) brackets this year. I filled out just one each for the men and women. My men’s has Florida over Houston but besides that in nothing to me games like this something will trigger me when watching and I suddenly decide who I’d prefer to win.

Then we'd have to rehash the debate about rooting for non-UConn Big East teams
(For the record: Marquette, Xavier, OK. St. John's, never. The rest, meh)

Yeah Clayton is good but LJ is nothing to sneeze at and in my mind is a better all around player vs Clayton.
The length of Florida may be bothersome, but I see Houston, if they can overcome foul issues, overcoming their recent 3 pt shooting woes and clamping down on D, winning by at least 7 pts.
It will be close but I take KS coaching the Cougs to a win.

Wasn't Houston in with us in the AAC 2013-2020...would say it lets us causally pull for them over Florida.

I'm thinking it's Gator Bites on the menu for the Cougars tonight.

I'm rooting for Houston. Sampson has been knocking at the door for a while now, he's an excellent coach, and he's an older guy. It's remarkable what he's done at what was a dead program since Drexler and Hakeem. He's turned it into a program that wins big every year through hard work.

I've never had a problem with Florida either so won't be bummed if they win but my heart is with the Coogs.

.-.
Whichever team wins, tomorrow ESPN will have a dumb AP final poll like they did with the Women's today. I would call that the No Duh poll as the champ will always be #1.

To be honest- he’s obviously not as good- but Clayton Jr.’s game reminds me of a lot of Curry- think a lot of his movements & the shots he takes are Curry esque. With that said, I will be rooting for Houston to win tonight- probably only because I picked Houston to win the tournament before it started.

I tend to want our last loss to be against the eventual champions, but I like Houston better. As folks have pointed out, a Houston win keeps FL further behind in the chip count and the SEC from getting one. I guess I'm going to root for a 1 point Houston victory.

Gotta pull for Houston I guess. I’ll just root for the team that wins.

.-.
One of these teams will cone back from behind to win. I'm not sure if it will be Florida or Houston. It's really a 50/50 game.
Cant that be said about most games? At some point youre going to trail in the game. Even if youre down 2-0 in the opening seconds of the game and you go on to win you came back to win. Lol ! Sorry, coulldnt help myself.

Clayton is the best clutch player in the tournament but can he do that again against this defense that Houston throws at them.
I think Golden is going to try something different against Houston. Houston is big and often extends pressure. Watch UF run lots of cuts off their bigs.

I really don't care from a fan perspective

But I think Clayton is doing a Kemba, dude won't let his team lose

Aaaaaand he’s pitched a first half donut. Pretty much knew Houston would shut Clayton down, easy call.

Spot on prediction way to go….you are an expert got this one spot on…..Houston winning…..and even though I am on record as being a fan, KS was not at his best in this game.

But what if……then your obscenely wrong prediction might have had a chance of being accurate.

How many actual field goals did Houston have in the last five minutes. I can answer that they had one with 1:37 remaining a jump shot by LJ Cryer. Before that it was a 3 pointer at 5:02.

But what if….they actually made three shots your prediction by 7 would still be wrong.

Good job.

After the Big 12 jerked UConn around, I hate to see a Big 12 team win a championship.
Plus, with Houston losing, the Big 12 is still looking for a basketball champion to take them to the promised land.

This isn't the Big 10. Kansas and Baylor both have recent titles
