It's the start of a new era under Coach P and the start is a little rough.

Starting under center is ________, and not unexpectedly he struggles out the gate. The Huskies put one in the endzone in the second quarter. No such struggles for the defense and the Rams are held under 100 total yards in the first half. At the half it's 10-3 Huskies.

First game jitters gone, the passing game opens up in the second half with the Moores as the primary recipients. This opens up a whole bunch of room for DJ, McCombs and JLJ who combine for 180 yards rushing for the game.

The final is 41-10 and the defense contributes a TD. Pretty sure it's Sio on an errant pass trying to get to the flat.

__________ goes 13 for 25, two TDs and shows just enough promise to take on Vandy. The staff shows very little of the offense for the Vandy tape.

Full house of Husky faithful on a Thursday evening and all is good in Husky Nation.

This is Fordham, not even an average full fledged FCS school. If it does not ugly early then we may be in for a tough year. They should not be able to move the ball on our D, or physically line up against our O'. This should be worse than the Texas State (or whatever they were called) game last year. We're up by 38 at the half, and have to all but take a knee to keep it under 60. Our D' will out score Fordham by themselves. Final score 59 - 3.

38-3 offense struggles, one special teams touchdown & one defensive td.

I was going to say 38-3 as well. A very sloppy first half at least. Blidi gets a pick 6, and one of the backs breaks a long TD run (probably McCombs)

I am pretty confident that we will score 40+ points regardless of who will starts at QB. Final score is 44-10 in favor of UConn.

.-.
If it's 10-3 at halftime against this team it may not be unreasonable to begin panicking.

In no way shape or form should our offense struggle in this game, regardless of who is under center or running the rock.

This will be every bit as bad, if not worse than the Texas Southern game last year. My only prediction is about 5k fans left at the final whistle.

I think somewhat close and not a ton of points. Maybe 24-13 UConn.

Really?

Fordham won't score. I think Brown is Rex Ryan like with his defense, and he wants to make a statement in the first game. I don't think he will show every scheme...but I do think he will expect his players to shutout Fordham. Biggest risk will be if the offense turns the ball over putting Fordham in FG range. If that happens...look for Brown to put on pressure to get the ball back.

Not as sure about the offense. Obviously the QBs need confidence and I hope the coaches let them open it up a bit.

I predict something like 48-0

.-.
55-14. UConn is up 41-0 at the end of 3 - then they bring in the third team which allows two late TDs for Fordham.

.-.
UCONN 44 Fordham 13. I think we run down their throats and use this game to develp confidence in our passing game. Fordham will score a meaningless td toward the end.

.-.
I think Nebrich starts from the first snap, and has a nice day with many play-action rollouts and short crossing routes. He finishes 11-17 for 140 yards and a touchdown. Ground game pounds fordham into submission with something like 35 carries for 250 between DJ, JJL, and McCombs.

Defense locks up,

Fordham 6

I have to agree with most of the posters above. If we struggle against Fordham we're in for a long season. I feel that our defense will be the source for many scores this season and against weaker opponents they will overpower them. The offense, even if not sharp, will be able to move it at will against a weaker opponent. But I expect that a lot of the short passing, run game and long passes will be available and effective against this team. Not sure that all of this will be working well against better teams but I think it will. I will be shocked if we do not put up a big number like we always do against the 1-AA teams and expect that they will not score much if at all. 59-3 UCONN.

I think all of the QB's and RB's will play and get a chance to show what they have. It will be a good tune-up but won't show us how well we will play against the better teams. The fans will go home happy as long as everyone stays healthy.

I think 45-7, but only becuase Pasquoloni is too classy to run it up higher. Look for 35-0 at the half and basically inside handoffs for the second half.

.-.
I'll say 44-10. There probably won't be a need to throw the ball much, but it would be nice to get a TD pass or two right off the bat.

So the average of all of the predictions should be 48 - 6.

I believe we will see a very conservative game plan, alot of running to set up the play action.
So if we run the ball 40-45 times. we should use a lot of the clock. Thus I say we don't put up a big number.
We do show the fan base that we are still UCONN football, power running, with a bolt of lightening!
The defense will flex, but not show it's full repertoire, 5 sacks, 3ints.
The QB play will be watched very closely, by everyone in national flag blue.

Score: 28-3, UCONN!!

We should drop 35 in the first half on them. Johnny Mac will start, with DJ Shoemate lined up behind him. Shoemate will get no more than 5 carries on the 1st drive. Reason being he breaks a 17 yard run for a touchdown on the opening drive.

.-.
UConn 41
Fordham 2

One of our quarterbacks makes a mistake in the end zone and it results in a safety. Other than that, they manage nothing.

I just need them to score 4 offensive TD's so I can get a Jersey 20% off on Monday.

UCONN 38 5 TDS, 1 fieldgoal
fordham 20 2 fieldgoals 2 Td's, could minus- a TD

HALFTIME UCONN 17
Fordham 3

With two or three Qb's still competing, I think HCPP has a hard time taking his foot off the gas; Huskies, 63 or 70 to 13.

I would be shocked if we don't score 55 and even more shocked if Fordham scores more than 7. I don't care if one of my cats was playing QB. They are borderline awful and I suspect they will be very sorry that they scheduled this game and a second out of class game with Army. Even the Cadets should be able to put up 45 on these guys. Vince Lombardi is not suiting up.

.-.
If we can't beat these guys badly we are in for a long year.

UConn 45
Fordham 3
