Just wanted to let you guys know that I’m probably not going to be liking as many messages in the future. I know this sounds like something bad is going on, but it’s not that. Basically, I have been an Ohio state football fan for a while now and kind of felt bad that I chose two different schools. I have connections to Ohio State, but can’t say the same thing about UConn. I just hopped on the bandwagon this past year. All of this is to say that I am going to be more of an Ohio State basketball fan so I won’t be in the forum as much. I am still going to root for the huskies, but they’re not going to be my team. Thank you guys for welcoming me on the board, and I’ll be stopping by every once in a while when a recruit commits, for example.

So when did you hop on the bandwagon exactly and what made you a bandwagon fan.
Right before the tourney this year. I started watching more college basketball and eventually found this forum.

You sure you don’t want to re-think your team? If I were you I’d be a die hard Ohio State fan for football and a die hard UConn fan for basketball. It could be another 100 years before a Big 10 school wins a championship in basketball (unless of course they offer UConn an invite to the B10 before then).

Yeah that’s a good point. I’ll think about it more.

Still like the huskies but I can’t justify rooting for two schools as my top teams.
I can respect that it’s so lame seeing fans root for 2 different schools with different sports. You wanted to get a championship feeling didn’t you.

So it’s this forum, it has nothing to do with the team or Hurley is it the fact we were in Purdue’s path of winning the title.

This kind of reminds me of what I did when I was a kid... I lived in NorCal (as I do now), and first gained an interest in hoops when this new dude named Lew Alcindor was about to start up at UCLA. I watched their first TV game, and said to myself... That's for ME! Go Bruins!

I was more intrigued by their then-revolutionary fullcourt press than Alcindor, though he was obviously great... But I was in.

A few years later, OJ Simpson started at USC. So I rooted for them, too, even against UCLA.

After Simpson graduated into a life of cri... ERRRRR Hall-of-fame NFL career, I decided I couldn't root for one team in football, then their archrival in hoops... So I decided I was going UCLA all the way, because I like basketball a TON more than football.

This is pretty similar, so I get the OP's thinking.

It's also similar to my jump from SMC to UConn when Aidan moved over. I will keep up with the Gaels, but I'm off their forum.

No, no no, that’s not what I meant. Right before the run I starting rooting for them and found the forum later.

So what exactly made you root for us just curious to know.
it was a mix of the team being good and also looking for a college team to root for. I have watched football for a while but I just got around to watching college basketball more recently.
