What do we know about this kid? I've seen his youtube videos and it looks like he can really shoot the ball (against suspect competition). He also has a lot of size and good instincts on the glass. Seems like a high IQ player. This would be a really pleasant surprise if the kid can ball, and have an impact this season. I take the mixtapes with a grain of salt after drooling over AD's last summer. He looked like the best player of all time. This leads me to question number two -what does Dom Amore do with his time? I check twitter and the Courant every day, and the guy can't write one update on the kid?? I think it's only a matter of time before someone hungry like Kevin Duffy takes his job, or they bring Mike Anthony back in. Dom's articles absolutely suck and he puts zero effort into writing them.

Anyway, here's an LT video I'm sure has been posted before..

You must not have visited the Bad Journalism Wall of Shame! Dom Amore has his face plastered on the wall right on top!

Hopefully LT will simply bridge the gap to the 2013-14 season. That will depend on the 2013 recruiting class. As it stands now he would be a contributor both years which doesn't lend itself to an optimistic outlook for 2013-14.

That can change in a nyc minute though. The recruiting culture needs to change and its not to late. Although Calhoun is a major liability right now on the recruiting trail he has the capability to reverse that and cut down the nets in 2013-14.

But time is of the essence...

I think LT might be a real sleeper. Niels Giffey is also an experienced player that hasn't been given a lot of credit, but can shoot it and play D. I think NG might explode this year. If everybody stays and we can pick up another couple 4-5 stars (to go along with Facey) like Hamilton or XRM 2013-14 could be huge. Obviously there is uncertainty around the future, but KO and Susan seem to be more than holding their own. A $40 million practice facility on the way is nothing to laugh at..

I agree with you. This (UConn) is like a very high risk/high reward stock right now. Niels is a guy I really pull for. Unselfish team guy with heart. This year despite the post season ban will provide invaluable experience to Olander, Daniels, Giffey, Wolfe ect ect...

There is ALOT riding on this recruiting class. Facey was a nice piece. This is the time for a very very very aggressive recruiting if necessary (of course within the rules but 24/7 diligence). Look at the difference a year made between this August and last. Next August could be another reversal of fortune. This is the end of the line for Calhoun love him or hate him. He still is the best tournament coach ever JMHO. The key is getting the personnel to put him in a position to leave on top. Right now he is his own worse enemy and the programs. It makes me believe he thinks he can't win 1 more ring. It is there for the taking despite the present day status.

If Leon can play solid position defense, consistently box out, avoid turnovers and make 40%+ of his open threes, he will be a significant contributor. The national media has acknowledged the experience and talent of our backcourt but mostly ignored the potential of our wings and bigs. Between Phil Nolan, Wolf, TO, & Leon, I think it likely that at least two will become strong contributors. DD and NG will be at least moderately improved over last year and DD has the potential to be much better.

Didn't have public view highlight vids back then but the ability to get his shot and the oysters to take it remind me of our boy Dav (a little).

It's early in the process but I'd have no issues if German White Chocolate became the latest craze this Fall.

I t was "Ray" so it was okay but my son has gone to many camps and this was a very expensive 3 hours a day weekend camp which was unorganized and in a real hot gym. So many parents dying to take pics of Ray it was not really about basketball shall I say......but Ray was real good....the people running the camp were not!!

From this video (with the understanding that the video doesn't show a lot):

His handle needs much work. Dribbling bolt upright and waist high equates to turnovers in Big East play.

His shot looks textbook. Square, straight up, elbow in, rotate the wrist, straight through the net. Clearly his best skill.

Doesn't have much vertical game.

Only saw one pump fake, step in shot in those highlights. He should perfect that to compliment his spot-up shooting.

No video of creating shots for teammates type stuff.

Unfortunately in these videos you never see defensive highlights from anyone except the most elite prospects.

Not sure what to make of him from that other than as a role player/energy guy.

No need for vertical if you box out and know how to play.......Ao had a vertical game but had no explosiveness off the ground and didn't box out.......can't be much worst can Leon?
