ESPN has their office in Charlotte as well. ESPNU, SECN, and ESPN Regional. 37,000 sq feet

And then ESPN picks up and leaves "Godforsaken" Bristol with its thousands of Connecticut employees. Texas Tech can't just leave Texas. Doesn't quite work the same.

It's not a hundred million in infrastructure. It's a helluva lot more than that.

I have no idea what the cost of the infrastructure is.

I couldn't locate the exact figures but apparently ESPN's current net assessment is: E.S.P.N. $193,854,960. The total actually dropped in August 2014 when the new $175 million digital center opened. This is due to ESPN taking advantage of tax breaks. The total amount of property is probably closer to $500,000,000. Not sure how much is real estate vs. personal property. Either way, it's a lot.

"“The building is constructed over a number of years, so we value those improvements as the building is constructed and that is added to the Grand List. In August 2014, the building received its certificate of occupancy, which now makes it eligible to capitalize on the full program benefit, essentially making the building only 8 percent taxable."

Right here in black-balled CT.
