Joey California was a major defensive liability in his first couple games but then went on to show steady improvement throughout the season to become an adequate defender while he was on the court. For what we brought Mahaney in to be, he just has to start showing improvements and do it soon or else Hurley will have to relegate him to reduced minutes off the bench.
