Lauren Holtkamp

I recognized most of the refs who worked the Paradise Jam games as familiar faces from previous seasons, but the one of the striped shirts who worked the Wake and Marist games was new to me. When I googled Lauren Holtkamp, I discovered that she is 32 and is one of two female refs who have been added to the NBA's roster this season, if only as a "guest" official. Apparently she has done FIBA, WNBA and D-League games in the past.

Does anyone know anything more about her? My wife and I thought she did a pretty good job, at least until she called a phantom foul on Stefanie in the Marist game. She was the ref who made the humorous jump ball call when ball got stuck between a player's legs near the out of bounds line.

I think ThisJustIn does - she and I had a conversation about a ref - if a name was mentioned, I wasn't listening, but it sounds like her.

She played at Drury University - DII (2000-04, it would appear). Drury was a good DII team, going to the finals against California PA. Sneaking a peek at stats, Holtcamp wasn't a star.

As in past years, I am tracking referee's - currently 135 of them, although I will cut down later. Holtcamp is one of them. She has worked at South Florida and at Clemson this season, also at Wm & Mary, W. Carolina, Furman, La. Monroe and Bethune Cookman.
