Good to see all the support from the TV folks to the people whohave stood up and supported her cause...... Good to see the peeps in person today to back the cause...Pat S, Tamika C, Elena D, Fred Jackson, etc..... Go Lauren...You are an inspiration

That was a tremendous outpouring to a very brave young girl. So glad to have seen it. I particularly liked when the announcer interviewing her mentioned it as her "Last game" and she corrected him by saying it was her "first collegiate game". That said everything you need to know about her.

Very touching.

A few of you may know that around 7 years ago, a long time Rutgers fan, also a Division II or Division III player, died of a childhood cancer. It wasn't the same specific tumor, but likewise developed late (she was already in college) and was a kind that is 100% fatal. Unlike Lauren's type of cancer, aggressive treatment gave the young lady more time but we are only talking a couple of years. Her family was very involved with Alex's Lemonade Stand as a charity for children's cancer.

One of the sad truths that was pointed out at that time was the relatively small portion of cancer research funding goes toward the group of pediatric cancers. So especially cool that this game was able to inspire folks to consider donating.
