Anyone else find it odd that providence didn’t seem to sag off Andre as aggressively as others have?
Providence's strategy against us has been to over extend the perimeter and prevent side to side action. You can't really do that AND choose not to guard AJ when he's on the wings. We did a lot of inverted high low back door from bigs to guards to take advantage of that this time. Great coaching job.

It was fully apparent that DH was allowing Kimani a very long leash and I really feel that it should have been an ongoing event from seasons start. I saw Kimani talk to nearly every player who came off the floor and the conversations appeared to be accepted enthusiastically by the players. Kimani did much more talking to DH rather than by standing/ listening.
This type of give and take is important to DH and the program.
If it continues it would make many happy and the results will be better.

Credit to Adama for working on passing. Probably why it took a while before coaches felt confident to have him play this new role.

Kimani had the scout last night.
Well cheers for Kimani. Let's get him some good alcohol as present like vintage wines or cognac, definitely not the $2 beer from the Providence game, LOL.

He was really good. He's made some changes with this team over the last 3-4 weeks. They are taking hold. I thought he coached a real good game in the Creighton loss too.
He deserves a lot of credit recently, for sure. 4 things that seem to have been addressed and vastly improved:

Moving Adama around to be less predictable and mitigate double teams

Running things for Dre to be closer to the rim where other teams are forced to guard him

Encouraging Hawkins, Karaban and Newton to penetrate more

Showing more faith in Alleyne and Diarra to be significant contributors

We look like the November team again. We won’t be able to rely on shooting nearly 50% from three like in the Marquette and Providence victories but guys seem more willing to get to the rack now if cold from the outside. In January they would have just continued to bomb threes. We’re the best team in the conference and a top 5 team in the country when executing. Should be an exciting next 3-5 weeks.
