They just said Fowles is expected back for the playoffs. I wonder how much of a readjustment that will take?

McCoughtry is going off on her birthday, 16 pts. and not even midway thru Q2.

40-37 LV. Minnesota had a big run to take the lead, see-sawing back and forth.

56-54 Aces at the half. 16 for McCoughtry 16, 14 for McBride, 12 for Wilson. Collier w/ 17, 13 for Dangerfield, 9 for Dantas.

Aces take and make the least 3's in the league by a wide margin, but 7-15 already today. They average around 3.5 made 3's per game.

It’s tough when Angel and KMac are both lights-out from three. Looks like another terrible half of defense from the Lynx, but after the Aces had 20 at the 5:00 point of Q1, it wasn’t all that bad.

As usual, I’m completely baffled by the officiating. There was one play where A’ja got totally mugged and no call, another where Collier was perfectly vertical, and A’ja shot free throws.

All’n’all, a very entertaining half.

Oh, and they said Sue and Stewie are doubtful for the game Sunday vs. the Aces.

When you have at least a Top 2 seed already secured, there isn’t a lot of incentive to play.

The Lynx never play well with Shenise Johnson in the game. I guess she has to play with Lexie not available. Having had multiple (undiagnosed) concussions in my youth, my heart is with Lexie.

They don't look like they are suffering from a lack of motivation.

Lynx have really disappointed in 3Q. Aces up 81-69. Defense has totally disappeared. Crystal making some bad plays with 6TO's. Phessa's hot 1st half has not extended to 3Q. Lynx showing they are a level below the elite 3 teams.

Getting out of hand now. 21 point lead midway thru Q4. Lynx have been MIA since halftime. Phoenix licking their chops, opportunity to move up to the #4 position and a bye.

Lynx making a run, probably too little too late. Within 13 now.

104-89 final. McCoughtry, McBride and Wilson all scored 20 or more. 2 in double figures off the bench. Dangerfield finished w/ 24. Collier was scoreless in the second half.

Aces are all about token starters. Swords logged 12 minutes, Allen only 5.

Why were the high-minutes players in the last 5 minutes for the Lynx? Rest Collier and Dangerfield, put McCall and Johnson in.

That’s how they have “the highest-scoring bench in the history of the WNBA,” as we heard a gazillion times tonight.

Those are two players Laimbeer brought with him from New York in a manner of speaking. Bill is loyal to players he likes.

Without Sylvia, Minnesota couldn't slow down Vegas. And in Q3, they stopped matching them in scoring.

Some good news: Crystal's 24 points put her average up to 16.2 ppg, which is either 9th or 10th in the league. Her 9-9 FT shooting put her at over 92% on the season, good for 3rd in the league.

BTW, Crystal is the leading scorer for the evening, with 2 games completed.

I was talking about Seattle with the decision to sit Bird and Stewart.

Oh. Not sure if it's really a choice if both are injured. Agreed, they can definitely left Sue rest her knee for these last 2 games.

Being in the bubble, there is no real home court advantage. The most important thing is to all be healthy.

Without Fowles they are. Their interior defense has been weak. There has been a number of times when they have been outrebounded on the offensive boards. They need her for the playoffs. Their bench players have been inconsistent.

Angel: 3 of 4 from beyond the arc;
Danielle Robinson: 2-3; and
K-Mac: 5-7.

When McBride is doing her "buckets" thing, that's tough on opponents.

What caught my eye is that McBride is logging more and more minutes -- played nearly 36 minutes last night. Tells me Bill is getting her ready for the playoffs.
