SOMEBODY's gotta win! Lots of parity in the league, but these are 2 of the worst teams at the moment...

Deep breaths guy. Very interestingly jumbled up league.

Apparently not. OT coming. The ACES choked away an 8 pt lead with 2+ minutes left. Wilson is playing well but Plum and McBride were particularly awful at the end. See if they can recover.

Edit: Wilson played very well in OT. 35 pts in total. 16-24 with 13 rebounds and 0 turnovers. Crushed the OT period.

A’ja is not (yet) a complete and polished player, but she has enough size and ability to be the ROY.

Big game for Ace. Even bigger for A’ja.
Achonwa is a good player. I'll think once Dupree retires she will make a good 4 for the Fever. However, her playing center will be hard because of how undersized she is.

A'ja of course is really good.

A’ja is in a perfect situation to develop into a star. She’s a big fish in a small pond going up against great opponents in the west and will play through mistakes and get good coaching from Laimbeer. On another team she isn’t going to get the same number of touches and her improvement takes longer. Give the Aces a year or two and they’ll be in the hunt for a title. The next step IMO is hand the PG reigns fully to either Jefferson or Plum (and the correct choice here is Jefferson) and then build on the foundation of PG/McBride/Wilson. Next draft, either Big (McCowan or Brown...especially Brown) would do well with A’ja operating out of the high post. KLS would also be a great get since she can spread the floor and would be a good complement to McBride on the wing.

Las Vegas has one of the top coaches in the W. I don't think it will be a long rebuild.

If 35 pts, 13 reb, 2 ast, and 3 blk come from a player who is not yet polished, that’s a scary message to the rest of the league.

As I mentioned earlier, not only was her scoring line impressive, but her efficiency and desision making out of the double team were very good (0 turnovers). The Fever team had no real post presence so it is not correct to extrapolate this performance but she will be a great post in years to come.

It won't be. They'll finish at or near the bottom of the standings again this season. That will insure them of getting one of the top 4 picks in the draft next year. Lots of talented players will be finishing their eligibility after this coming season. Napheesa and Lou will be among those coming out. Laimbeer will select a player that can come in and help his team right away.

This being her 1st year, as she adjusts to the style, physicality and speed of the W, it should be the worse year she'll have. She should improve every year after this going forward. She's sure making Laimbeer look good in making her their #1 pick.

(and the correct choice here is Jefferson)

Is she ever going to be healthy again? What's going on with her? I see her anointed as THE next great PG, Olympian, etc., but she's barely played since her rookie year, and that's been a while.

It looks as if Wilson will be a real good player. If Jefferson gets fully healthy. That will also help.

She had micro fracture surgery, which is what Chelsea Gray, Rachel Banham, and Allison Hightower had. It takes time to recover and you don’t want to rush it to avoid a setback. Sounds like she could be back in late June.

I could not agree with you more. I would hope they're treating her injury the exact same way the NFL Colts are treating Andrew Luck's injury..........very very carefully. ;) You know Mo is not just sitting on the bench in a daze. She's looking and learnng.
