I’ve gotta say, it’s difficult to see the reasoning that would lesd her to commit here. She’s basically going to be battling Jana, Ice, Sarah, Morgan, Blanca, and possibly Caroline. Where are her minutes coming from? She sounds great for us but I’m just not seeing it.
I don't view her as a small forward.........I think she's more of a 4 with the freedom and the ability to score inside and out.......if she shares the court with Jana and Sara that will be a pretty powerful front court.........

I do think there is a logical path to major playing time for her, but I will start with the competitors. Position wise, I think she is a better fit at the 4 than Morgan, Blanca or Caroline who are possible 4's, but more 3's, or 3/4's. Ice has done nothing IMO to indicate she would be ahead of Lara at the 4, but might be at the 5.

Sarah because of her perimeter skills does not have to be an obstacle in Lara's way, because she could be the starter next year at the 3, next to Lara at the 4. This year we need Sarah mostly at the 4. next year could be just the opposite. Paige could very well get most of the minutes at the 3 this year, but obviously will play many positions. She and maybe Caroline will be gone. Upfront no departures and two major additions in Gandy and hopefully Lara.

If Sarah wants to be more on the perimeter, a starting lineup with Sarah, Lara, and Jana has more potential than any other combination of positions 3-5 that I can think of. If you pencil Sarah in for 30+ minutes just at the 4, I understand the concern, but right now I would consider Sarah her only serious competition at the 4, and I see Sarah as likely to be playing as much at the 3 next year, with a pretty good chance she starts there if Lara comes.

Lara moved to the US because she knew the US game would develop her the best. Which means she knows her future is basketball. And out of her final three choices, which school has the best track record of developing talent? She knows this. With that said. I’d be surprised if it anywhere but UConn. But I’ll still be nervous until Wednesday, especially with her family pushing hard for academics

Those pictures of a young Lara Somfai wearing UConn gear have me holding on to hope that it’s UConn. I feel like generally the players that were UConn fans when they were younger, have a strong desire to play for UConn when they’re older.

Well, there are some good arguments for her, that’s for sure. Again, I like her, I think she’s a nice player and she is 6’4”! I’m just not sure where her playing time is coming from. Some here have apparently given up on Ice, but I have faith she will eventually play up to her #5 ranking. She is big, strong, in shape, and finally healthy! Plus, she’s a lefty:) I think last year she was not in great shape and never really felt it until those few games in the tourney. I think she will rise to the occasion and push her way (effectively) into the rotation soon. As for Lara, I hope she does come. If Geno wants her, that’s good enough for me.

When you're as good as she is and have the talent to play all over the court Geno will find court time for her......how does Dawn keep her group of high school All Americans so happy?

IMO she'll commit to Stanford....reasons: Stanford degree, weather and more playing time. I'll be ecstatic to be wrong!

If she does that, poor Dad will have to get rid of the UConn gear he picked up on her official visit. Pictures 4,5 and 7.

Yeah, it looks like he shelled out a lot of green. That letter jacket looked pretty spiff.

The letterman jacket is prop for photoshoots, he didn’t keep it.

She just posted on Instagram she will he making her announcement on the 13th.

Hopefully it's the good guys. I got a good feeling!
I wonder if the fact another Australian just committed to UConn - the men's team. Do they know each other? They or their parents can fly here together (before the 1000 comments I'm just having fun with the idea and not being too serious).

Unless I'm missing something on Instagram... she's still liking a ton of posts of Stanford's page, and I'm not seeing anything anymore from her with UConn or Duke.

I think it's Stanford now.

We have a gem of a wing with Blanca coming in next year, and another post player in Gandy. Hopefully we can snag Olivia Vukosa the following year.

I’m confused. Did the law change regarding foreign student athletes and NIL?

I think she started following Wasserman while on her Stanford visit. I think she's heading to Stanford.

Probably because they’re based in California and it would’ve been easier to meet as opposed to at Duke and UConn. I’m still holding out on hope.

Just came back to say that Lara has liked UConn’s last 10 posts on Instagram. :D

Tomorrow should be very interesting.
