Lamb to Announce Decision Tomorrow

I'd like to see Omar Calhoun get lots of playing time at the 2 in preparation for the year after next.

The fact that there will be an announcement most likely means hes going to say NBA. I cant recall any pre plan special announcements in the past for players that were returning.

The only way this will be an announcement that he is staying is if he is trying to make a spectacle of some good news for the program. It would be appropriate to try and help out by publicly announcing he'll be back. That said, ever since I saw the video showing AO and Lamb walking into Gampel together being tailed by a beat writer I knew Lamb was gone. Hanging with AO the day after so much bad blood was created on Twitter wasn't a good sign.

Jeremy should go. His stock is only going to go down if he stays. The style of play in college -- and specifically the Big East -- isn't really conducive to his game. That coupled with the fact that Jim says he's likely to go in the top 10, and the fact that he's ready means he's going to go. I wish him the best, and hope he fulfills his potential in the big leagues.

Thanks for the 2 years Jeremy. It seems that after your freshman season your secret (i.e. enormous potential) got out of the bottle and it can't be put back in. Pretty good results for a kid that didn't start in high school until their senior year.

Represent us in the NBA!

He is gonna go and should. Good Luck JL!!!!!!!!!!!

JC is going to stick around for another year from what I have heard. If JC left now we would have a mass exodus of players from the team that would set us back 10 years- I think he knows that and wants to get the program on a more level playing field before handing off the team to a new coach.

As much as I would like to see Lamb stay to bulk up a bit, work on his game, become a 20+ppg scorer, and see him thrive in the go-to-guy role, I can't blame him for leaving.

The kid was a revelation last year in our championship run. The perfect Robin to Kemba's Batman. Calhoun had him pegged all along as someone special.

I can't help but think that going to the NBA is the best move for him. His skills seem much more suited to the up-and-down NBA game.

I wish him all the best in the league and I know he will represent UConn well for many years.

I think RIP Hamilton was the last player to hold a press conference to announce he was staying - happened at the end of the 1998 season

I believe he's releasing a statement, not holding a press conf

You know what would be nice? If UConn fans would shut their pie holes about what players "should" do. None of us have a clue what the players want in their lives or what they are being told as far as what their options are. I know there are people on both sides of this but the UConn "fans" that stumble all over themselves in self-righteousness to say that players should go are the most annoying.

I can think of a more annoying type of fan.

Does anyone have a link to the real story behind this? I remember reading once that Rip went to Gampel that day with every intent of leaving, and was walking around, saying his goodbyes to everyone, when he made his way into Calhoun's office. A short while later, I think I remember reading, Rip came out and announced he was staying, then 1998 turned into 1999, and the rest is history.

Does anyone else remember this story, or am I making it all up?

I think we went into that day with all sorts of negative rumors. RIP was leaving and Keven Freeman was looking to transfer.

RIP ended up staying and so did Kevin and we ended up with a National Championship.

Would love see the same today. Jeremy and Andre stay and we somehow get eligible in 2013.

History has been known to repeat itself. Going to stay positive
