Yes, looks like only 7 players, and one fouled out...Does WS have just 7 players?
Go Beavers! Dam Vols!Vols win 58-51 scoring the last 6 of their points at the Free Throw Line. They shot 20 Free Throws making 13 compared to only 5 of 7 for Wichitia. Most of Wichita fouls were valid. However IMHO Refs were slow to whistle the Lady Vols. If Lady Vols play Stanford and Oregon State like they did tonight it won't be pretty.
Good luck to them this year
Yes, Russell missed so many easy layups (she should watch how Tuck plays with her height).UTenn is a hot mess at this point in the season. No flow, no passing, standing around, one player dribbles and shoots and they try to rebound and get a put back or foul. Good luck to them this year, they are gonna need it.
44-44 now. Tennessee is just awful. I think the most mystifying thing (well there are many shockingly bad things about watching Tennessee play) is that their effort just seems to ebb and flow. They just got a TO by employing the full court press. Then the intensity disappears and they go back to standing around.
It's not just on Holly. Players need to bring it, and they need to hold each other accountable, but it's up to Holly to put players on the court who are giving 100%, even if that means benching your "star(s)"
...
Herb Brooks quote when assembling Hockey Team USA- someone looked at his roster during try outs and said , "Herb, your missing a lot of the best players". He responded, I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right players". That's the bottom line!!!Tennessee is just not a good team although they have good players. You cannot just collect stars and instantly expect to win. The genius of Geno and his staff is the way they put together teams and not just a collection of the best players.
With Stanford and Oregon State next, Vol fans must be feeling nauseous...
I do not know how much SEC paid the Lady Vol fans to watch Tennessee play Wichita State on TV under the P5 program. The supporters definitely earned their money this evening. Tennessee shooting was awful. Their passing was even worse. Somehow they managed to pull it off at the end 58-51.
The clamor for Holly's ouster is growing louder every moment. She has 3+ yrs left on her contract. The university is not keen on buying her out. They gave her a raise (to 650K) last year and also extended her contract by a year. Many Lady vols fans believe that their problems will disappear once she is gone. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Tennessee has not recruited any player for 2016. This has nothing to with Diamond Deshields' presence on the team. Top HS players are no longer enthused by the orange jersey. Tennessee recruiters are leaving their calling cards at Junior Colleges. Linnie Harper, the former Kentucky player was present when the Lady Vols lost to VT at home. She has not shared her impression of that game publicly.
Aha! a usage guy.Yes, of course they are. What else could they be? And perhaps they also feel nauseated.

The Lady Vol fans believe that their AD does not care about the program. He will keep Holly Warlick as the coach until she runs the program into the ground. The source of this information is under wraps. LV fans will not share it with Boneyarders under any circumstances.

Nearly half the LV team are injured and this has tied Holly's hand. She cannot bench the players whose efforts are lacking. I sincerely hope these players recover soon.
Tennessee is simply a baaaaaad team. Or rather are simply baaaaaad because they certainly are not a team.
