Announcer stupidity aside, this is a kid who is going to surprise way to the upside. She's got terrific fundamentals, a very high motor, and is completely fearless. If she's in the game with Natalie, there's going to be some serious body banging going on. I fear for the other team when the referees decide "just to let them play."

I'm excited and glad to see her (and Bent) coming to UCONN next year along with the Real Danger. It is my sincere hope that Kyla and Molly come even remotely close to what I think their possible upside is in Sara Hammond and Kelly Faris. Having said that, I'm NOT saying that they will be anything close to either of those players, both of who were top 15 kids coming out of HS and both who were drafted to play in the WNBA. i believe they will most likely be role players - much like Ekmark and Gardler are/were, but if they become "role" players like Chong, it will be a pleasant surprise.

I know most UCONN fans have tempered expectations for the pair, but I hope people remember that when they start (possibly) criticizing like we saw with Ekmark last year and this year. Not every kid is going to be a starter, or a star, or a monster off the bench.

A TEAM is built on players with great heart and determination to be the best possible player they can be and be the best teammate they can possibly be regardless of their talent and athleticism. Uconn has been fortunate to have players like that with both great talent and also of lesser talent/athleticism but equal determination and heart.

I have no idea whether the ranking services are accurate or inaccurate regarding Bent and Irwin, but I am sure we are getting a pair of gems.

Along those lines - I loved the shout out to Pulido from Geno - she being not just the most improved player on the team, but possibly in the whole of the AAC. Her sending video of the shooting practice she is getting in when school work has kept her from joining the team on a road trip. And her consistently nailing open threes in practice and grinning a little more with each one!
