Good news if true - supposedly he's not Kentucky's priority right now unless/til they miss out on some other guys.

iverson is a big get. he still needs to develope mentally some on the court but the unteachable stuff is all there. hes a perfect fit for JC. being home grown helps and is more fun for fans. i hope we land him. it would really hurt us if uk took noel and kuran both out of new england. we need to go 1-2 or 2-2 vs uk and protect our back yard is my opinion.

I would not be surprised if UConn's offer is a soft one. I.e. they won't take a verbal until they get a better idea of his academics and development. From what I've heard there have been some character concerns (maybe more in the effort area) and a lack of improvement.

I'd hate to lose a good instate player, but on the other hand, I'd hate to burn a ship on one who is not playing to his potential and might be an under-achiever.

Watched him tonight vs Hall, he sat out the first quarter for some reason and was yanked after going 1 on 5 two trips in a row when Northwest was already up by about 40.

I've seen him play 3x in person and I haven't been impressed in any of the games I saw. Maybe he'll surprise me when he gets to college but I don't understand the hype or why you guys want him so bad. I don't know if its ya'll don't want another Ryan Gomes situation by missing out on a CT kid but Gomes was much more impressive in HS than what I've seen from Iverson.

Can't trust these kids anymore until they sign the LOI. Ex. Boatright.

Would be nice to get some more top in-state talent. Gotta convince future high-major in-state recruits to stay in-state once JC leaves.

do you guys have any freaking clue what guys like thabet looked like coming out of hs type games? most 6'5 + kids in regular hs teams/leagues- not preps, struggle alot but its all about potential and learning/development at the next level. Kuran is a good get and i'm glad he values staying home. if you want to complain about a kid lay off omar and kuran and find a bc commit to rag on. paschal one night earlier this season barely saw the court due to foul trouble early in the first and 3rd and only had 2 points and a couple rebounds/blocks. at the end of the game before he left for home a coach walked up to him and offered him. he saw enough on the non teachables. trust the staff and what they are doing. were going from small amount of ships to back to the full amount. that means we can have room for projects on our roster along with 10 quality guys. if kuran needs a year to develope thats fine considering our 3 spot right now.

I didn't say he can't play, it just looked like he was doing his own thing on a team that otherwise played great with him on the bench. He's got some skills and fluidity, but I'd like to see him again against some actual competition.

Thabeet is also a big man where all he has to do is block shots and rebound. Something he was already great at. Did his offensive game get better? Not really. It still wasn't that good when he went to the NBA. When your a 6'8 wingman playing against guys much shorter and slower than you then you should dominate. There should be no reason that anyone in the CCC could guard him. Im not buying his stock. Did you see him against Dematha? When he was in the game he looked TERRIBLE.

the games I've seen Kuran play in span over a year, him not looking that good isn't anything new. b/w recruiting gurus and first hand accounts from posters on this board, I can't remember the last time I've read a positive report on his game.

What exactly happened with Kris Dunn? We just didn't think we needed him or PC just did a better job of recruiting? I just don't understand because now we are going after JC point guards -- maybe because Boatright situation is more fluid now???

Dan this is not a new revelation from everyone. When you hear of a guy who doesn't "mix it up" in hs according to opposing coaches you need to be concerned as to what you were getting. This reminds me of what we were hearing aboutthe Chaney kid from New London a couple years back. Many here wanted him at UC while most heard he was overrated. How did that work out for Donovan?

Thabeet's offensive game improved by 200% by the time he left. He was good at making bank shots and hooks. Have we forgotten that he arrived with no offense and by his last year, he was pretty good?

There is no reason to compare Iverson to Thabeet. None. Iverson has been playing organized basketball much longer than Thabeet has even though Thabeet is older.

I'd prefer Dukes, who is shorter and less athletic, but who has better range, better shot, and a much higher b-ball IQ than Iverson. Count me as one who has never been impressed with Iverson. That said, if we offer, and land Iverson, I trust JC knows what he is doing, and I'll cheer my @ss off for him just like any other Husky.

Iverson reminds me of Ruslan Inyatkin.

With Dunn we simply didn't have an available scolie. We scrambled a month later for Drummond, but Drummond is worth the scramble. Instead of Dunn, we should invest in another big man. I doubt very seriously we are considering a juco PG. We are looking for another big for next year.
Regarding Iverson, Ollie & Miller were at two of his recent games. Drummond accompanied them to one of his games. I've gotta' say we are very serious about him. He's got another year of HS, and, like Daniels, he'll need 2 years of BE seasoning before dividends are paid. But, both Daniels & Iverson will be 4 year collegiate players. Or, at least, should be.

The courant just did an interview with Kuran and he said his top 3 in order is UK, Cuse and the UConn.
