Are they, really? Yeah, Providence's football program is head and shoulders over Tulsa. Instead of poo-pooing UConn's new conference-mates and yearning for the old dreggs. Look them up? They are not as bad as you currently think... If you're posting on a message board then you have access to do some superficial research.

1) Regionalization means almost nothing...
2) All programs run in cycles, unless it is ultra elite, and even then...

The Athletic budgets of Tulane/Tulsa are much great than that of StJU, PC, SHU or DePaul...perhaps combined. Tulane is down in football right now, but has had a few decent teams in recent years, and have sent a quality player or two to the NFL (Matt Forte anyone? Shawn King and Patrick Ramsey also attended and played for Tulane). The baseball team was in the College World Series as recently as 2005 and made the NCAA Tournament 8 times in the 21 Century.

Tulane's basketball program is about .500 the past few years, but appears to be on the upswing hopefully. Given that was in C-USA, we'll have to wait and see how they perform in the C2bNL, but it can't be any worse than the performances turned in by StJU, PC, the Hall, or DePaul in recent years.

Tulsa has an average Football team and went to bowls after each of the last two years. They do not have a bad basketball program either and Soccer, FWIW, is regularly in the top 25.

Is it the best situation? Absolutely not. But it is also not the lipstick on a pig deal that everone is making it out to be either.

Guess should tell FGC that no shot at getting better since their program is no Seton Hall. What did it take, 2 years and one good coaching choice.

How dense are you?

FGCU is a 15 seed that had 10 regular season losses. winning two games in the ncaa doesn't makea program. Being absolutely horrible for 99% of your existence does.

That's why ECU, Tulane and Tulsa suck.

I mean is this really happening? having to defend my position on how awful it's going to be, being associated with these schools?
