Knicks

Does anyone know what's going on here? I get stockpiling future picks for a package deal but are the future picks even going to be higher than the picks they just gave up?

They're currently interviewing Keon about what it feels like to be a Knick. He doesn't know he's not a Knick and nobody in the crowd does either, same with Kai Jones.

Definitely loading up for a trade in the future for a star, they're just so bad at it. The idea is great but all these trades this year and last year and just poor value

It's so confusing, they're stockpiling guys in the late 20's and second rounders to try and bring in a star? That's the most Knicks thing ever.

Grimes is a skilled guard who can shoot so he fills a need.

I like that they are thinking outside the box and it's great that they are now a franchise that stockpiles picks instead of giving them away like they did for so many years.

They're kicking the can down the road with a similar 1st but freeing up a little over $2m in cap space for this summer. Small thing, but could be relevant.

They must really like Luca Vildoza the Argentinian point guard they signed in March.

Edit: They just picked up PG Miles McBride. Love it! I wanted him in the first round.

Like most Knicks drafts recently I'm happier with their later picks than earlier. If they took McBride at 19 and Grimes at 32 I'd have been thrilled so I guess I can't really complain about getting both anyway

NBA draft is so confusing when they announce trades kids putting on different team hats. With that said, looks like they were freeing up cap space as they are only one of four teams that have it this year. I don’t mind it if the guys you targeted are not there in the draft. Sims could be a steal.

Having grown up a Knicks fan, I cannot believe that they are 1) this bad and 2) this incompetent..

Sadly, it's been like this for years and years

Most fun since the 10-11 through 12-13 seasons with Melo/Stoudemire/Chandler/JR/Lin.

Excited for next season.
I hope they take the slow path tomorrow. Don't need to go crazy in FA, sign some role players to medium short term contracts. Prove last year wasn't a fluke and next summer FA's should actually want to come

You probably didn't watch last season because they were decent and fun to watch until the playoffs.
Up until the last year, you could parachute in at any time to dunk on the Knicks for incompetence. But since Leon took over I’ve felt great about the franchise’s direction

Really hope they don't offer CP or Kawhi. Build through the draft, build a winning culture and free agents will come.

I don’t think he’s sign here anyways, but I’d have no problem with Paul. No obvious starting point guard on this roster.

Wonder if they could work out a deal for Kemba.
Kemba would be an interesting target depending on the cost. My top choice is Dinwiddie, I think he's a good mix of upside where he might break out when given a bigger opportunity with the floor of being a solid contributor at worst

Looks like there’s some real interest with Fournier.

What a transition for Grimes being coached hard nosed defensive coaches in Sampson to Thibodeau.

Noel and Burks are back. Not crazy about giving Noel 32 mill but it is important Knicks resign their own for good PR for once, Its 3 years though, I would think Rose is standing pat for moves to be made then resigns.

I really like the four deals:

Noel: 3y, 32M
Burks: 3y, 30M
Rose: 3y, 43M
Fournier: 4Y, 73M

One thing Burks taught me this year is he’s a heck of a closer. Ice in his veins.

Those are all really good deals, should be a solid team next year and if things go bad they're all tradable

My Knicks nightmare continues. All that maneuvering to have worse draft picks for trades and their big free agent signing was Evan Fournier for nearly 20 mil per year. Max cap space for 3 years and they still attracted nobody.

You must sleep pretty well.

Who would have been your big free agent signing?

Depth so far, solid rotation going here and a scrappy, fun-to-watch team:
