The Mavs get Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton. Knicks get Samuel Dalembert, Jose Calderon, Wayne Ellington, Shane Larkin, and the No. 34 and 51 picks in the 2014 draft. Being a Knicks fan, this is a great trade. Thoughts?

This appears to be a trade about the future. Shane larkin could turn into a decent point. The 34th pick I think is the reason for this trade though. This is a very deep draft and Jackson must feel he can walk away with a player. Wouldn't be surprised if Dalembert and Calderon are both gone by season end. Knicks will atrocious once Melo leaves so dumping entire roster for future players is in order. Keep Hardaway Jr. Without a defensive man in the middle don't see any major free agent signings due to win now mentality. If Jackson figures out a way to make the playoffs this season, he should be re-elected to hall of fame.

Calderon is signed for 3 more years at 7 million per year so no getting rid of him.

Looks like the Mavs are dumping players/salary to make some off season signings.

Yes - I admire your personal courage in admitting you are a Knicks fan:)

And I think this is not Jackson's last move - far from it.

Knicks seemed to have gotten the better of this deal. Felton & Chandler are on the downside. Dalembert is not as good a Chandler, but he's not that far off & he's been healthier... Calderon is a better passer & shooter than Felton... No one knows what Larkin can be yet, since he didn't play a lot last year but he has potential & Ellington is a very good shooter. I can see NYK getting rid of Shumpert at this point, despite how good Shump is defensively (but he's poor offensively). Slight upgrade...

Any trade where you can get rid of Felton and get a couple of draft picks is good. Doubt any of the players they got are in Phil's plans for the future, this is just the start of the overhaul.

Its been said that they're trying to deal shumpert to get into the first round.

Hope it happens

Hate to see Shump go. Will really miss his energy and swagger when he's engaged.

On Offense, Shump is what I call a 33.3%, 33.3%, 33.3% player...
33.3% of his shots go in.
33.3% of his shots don't go in.
33.3% of his shots are an air ball or major brick.
He's defense is stellar, but his offense is offensive...

He's also been injured a lot during his 3 years in the league.

But not his shooting arm! The book on him since his G. Tech days is that he cannot shoot. They were right. Want to like him for his defense, but his offense disturbs me. He keeps both teams in the game with his poor shot selection & bad passing. He's a defensive specialist.

Pretty sure he had an overall FG % of under 40% and under 30% from 3 at G. Tech too, even while not injured. And with the NYK he's been shooting similar. You can't really be believing he's a good offensive player, can you?

Any trade where you can get rid of Felton and get a couple of pet goldfish is good.

As a Portland fan, I fixed it for you. Fat Ray is toxic.
