KML free throw stance

Not meant to flame at all, I just wanted to get info from thsoe that have seen her more than I.

It was talked about several times on the CBS broadcast, but I didn't see it mentioned here anywhere. When a ND player shot free throws, KML put her hand in the general vicinity of the ND player (I assume as a way to distract them?)

Has she been doing this all of her career (i.e. perhaps a superstitious kind of thing) or is this a new thing?

IDK, never really noticed it before. What was distracting though was the announcers repeatedly talking about it. After the first couple of times, it obviously wasn't a foul and didn't seem to make much difference.

Thanks fr the reply. The announcers definately focused on it quite a bit. I had never seen any player do something like that and it certainly seemed calculated to me, but I wanted to get information from those more "in the know".

never noticed it... Im not even sure UConn has 4 players on the line for the rebound when shooting FT's.

normally 2 players are in the backcourt, but I think they were anticipating ND to press them after a make.

I dont care for it but Im not gonna crucify her for it

Not sure if it's meant to distract the shooter (if so, it didn't
work if I recall correctly).

I was wondering if perhaps it was just her way of reminding
herself to box out the shooter.

I noticed this at the Baylor game. I thought that it was an intentional attempt to distract the shooter. Seems to lift her arm at the exact moment that the player is about to attempt the FT.

Clearly within the rules, ban it or let it go.
I see a different purpose for it or at least a compound one and that is preparing to move into the lane and block out the shooter. Doing that action reminds the player to get their arms up and out into the path of the shooter.
