KLS as a pro

You have to be on a team that gives you an opportunity. Instead of letting Arike shoot 25-30 times a game takes away from running a design play for Lou to get an open shot or 3. Even Mojeff she tends to just want to get the ball to Arike. Lou can be a good player in this league and Dallas has a good team if they can get Arike to take less and better shots. Although she’s been shooting a good percentage I still like the ball to move around more.
im more worried about KML then any other UConn alumni.

A good percentage? She is averaging twenty one shots a game and averaging eight makes. That is 38%. A player shooting 38% and averaging 21 shots a game is shooting too much.

Who would have thought a few years back that Crystal would be lighting up the WNBA, and Lou would be struggling finding her way?

Pleasantly surprised by CD's level of success, AND so quickly. Lou, on the other hand, has been pretty much what I thought she'd be at this point. I also think she has some room to be better and I'm sure she'll work hard to adapt to the W just like she did entering D-1. Lou was able to move some of her game inside over her college career, which greatly benefited her outside game. In the W opponents are bigger, stronger and quicker all over the court and as tough as Lou is, trying to mix it up too much in the paint will be writing checks that her body can't cash.

After her ankle or foot operation before senior year, she never seemed to have the same motion or success on her jump shot. Wondering if there is still some issue.

I had pretty low expectations for Kaleena going into the season based on her stats and watching her at Seattle. She is struggling right now on both ends of the court. She has trouble covering opponents, and on offense she has difficulty getting separation for her shot. As a result, most of her shots look very rushed. On the rare occasions that she's open and takes an unrushed shot she looks pretty accurate. Sadly, 20% from 3 so far, 28% overall AND only 67% from the FT line... that's not going to build a case to stick around. :(

That is very true, I’ve seen most Dallas fans mention, especially after they lose, how much arike shoots the ball, and her percentage. As a guard she should be averaging at least 4-5 assist a game, if I’m not mistaken the guard who leads with assist is the rookie, who comes off the bench.

The last 5 games she’s been shooting 52% and I mentioned how much she shoots and at a low percentage

Half time with Mercury v Wings and Lou has played third or fourth most minutes. And played well. Four points driving to basket, setting screens, drawing players to her, getting a big block, disrupting other shots, defensively forcing Mercury out of bounds, helping to maintain possession, good passing. I have also seen her ignored by Arike when totally alone under the basket, 10 feet from Arike, who instead drove to basket allowing Mercury to close—and missed. She’s not alone. Wings need players who can see the floor.

Katie lou has been quite good today. Getting to the basket, playing D, etc. And Arike can see the floor just fine. She just likes to shoot and not pass.

Your stats are wrong. Entering the game she's shooting 42% from the floor and taking 19.2 shots per game.

Arike's taken 13 shots today and hit 9, has 3 assists. She's been anything but a ball hog today.

Lou is looking pretty good today.

Both Arike and Gray are shooting the ball well.

Arike has a fantastic skill set, but she should have a limit of 1-2 circus shots per game. She’s a good enough shooter that she can be efficient with better shot selection (her selection is good today).

Lou has found her calling. Assisting on Arike's shots. ;)

But seriously, her overall game (especially defense) has been good. Should help her confidence.

Guess Moriah has some injury?

I think they mentioned it was a knee issue

Yea moriah and the rookie sabouly are both dealing with injuries.

She has been fine today, but she likes to shoot more than pass whether she is hitting the shots or not. For her career she is just under 40% . She is a great player, but she likes to shoot. That is all I said.

Passing to her is like throwing the ball into a black hole — you’re not sure what will happen, but you definitely won’t get it back.

I stand by it.

Lou had 11/5/4/1/3 playing 31 minutes at PF in the win.

She looked really solid out there. Rebounded well, passed well and did well taking the ball to the basket. Played well today off Mabrey/Arike.

hmm. ND fans can crow today with Arike, Mabrey, Higgins Smith and Turner having good to great games.

Lou is a hard worker and has always worked on aspects of her game that needed work. She's become much more than a catch and shoot 3-point specialist. Even at UCONN. And she's continuing her solid work in the pros. Happy for her and wish her a long and productive career!

They were not wrong at the time I read them. She has better stats the last few games but before that they were not good. She was really good today but the offense ran more fluidly when she was not in the game because the ball was usually moving. Her coach had to tell her today to stop playing so much one on one. When she does that her teammates stand around watching her. If she can play consistently as well as she did today she will be all WNBA and worthy of it. However, her team needs Mabrey (sp) and KLS to play as well as they did today. I think Mabrey made the difference. So much for KLS not being able to create her own shot. She shot that to pieces today.

Exactly, and the thing is she has gotten better with creating her own shot, plus defending, and rebounding, it’s always going to be just giving her more minutes and time on the floor, the more time she gets, the more comfortable and aggressive she will be, I noticed today especially she was a little more aggressive on offense, she just needs more extended minutes. And I think agler should think about having mabrey continuing to start even when moriah comes back, the offense to me flows better when she and Lou are on the floor together.

There's only 11 players that average at least 4-5 and one them, Alyssa Thomas isn't a guard.
