I loved Kirk so much. I'll never forgive the NCAA for destroying his life out of spite.

Kirk King got an uber raw deal in the NCAA destroying his career (and probably setting him back significantly) over plane tickets home. Something kids should have.

Then ... look at that video: we could use a Kirk King today next to Amida Brimah. He would be the perfect compliment. Defender/rebounder. But, a big kid who played under control and score in the framework of the offense. No questions when he has the ball low; he can get to the rim or shoot a short jumper.

King set the UConn record for best FG% in a game, going 10-10 in the Providence game in the video. Brimah broke that when he went 13-13 against Coppin State.

Actually, with the Yale game before Coppin State, he went 7-8: made his first 2 attempts, missed his 3rd , and then made the next 5. Then after Coppin State was Duke and he didn't make a shot. So Brimah had 18 straight FGs.

I forgot how much fun it was to attend our games. Back then, every game in Hartford was like a rock concert.

Kirk and Ricky pushing the ball and playing D. The next year really is annoying what happened to them with that agent when Rip was a freshman, that team may have finished really strong as the frosh matured with Kirk and ricky playing.

Thanks tcf15. I remember that stretch clearly. It was very exciting. KK was very underrated. Great athlete, very strong at 6'8". He had a great junior year, and got off to such a great start as a senior. Such a shame what happened to him. He deserved better.

Some nice passes by the villainous Ray Allen against PC.
