Kibitzer Memorial BadAss Award

.-.
KK returned home with a BIG game, leading the team in rebounds with 6, picking up 3 steals, scoring 10 pts while dropping 9 assists against only 1 turnover. I was a little bummed that KK could have easily had a double-double had anyone of a number of Huskies converted relatively easy shots that were missed. Nevertheless, KK was BADASS today.

Might want to give this to the Marquette team that never quit and found a way to gum up the works in our offense...

Instead, I'll pick KK with 10 points and 9 assists in front of her hometown fans!

Important points from Azzi and Sarah in 2nd half to keep a manageable lead.

Azzi was our steadying force throughout the game….Sarah had a great burst in fourth q but spent her last bit of energy

I recall only one successful low post entry pass in the first half (to Jana). All of H1 was a impotent and effete low post performance by the UConn team.

That turned around in the second half with many good entry passes to Sarah, who is UConn's most reliable low post scorer by far.

I give the KBA to the player who successfully made spot-on entry passes to Sarah on the low block in H2, which primarily was KK Arnold, who had nine of UConn's season low (?) 17 assists.

Azzi also deserves part of the award for being a consistent scorer throughout the game.

I go with KK - most of the tape comes off and she explodes with 9 assists with a lone TO, to go with 10 points on 3-4 and 4-4 FTs (been in the gym on this?)

Azzi - man she kept us in it in the first half 17 points.
Sarah - having gone 1-9 in the first half goes 8-11 in the second for 19, going on her own personal Uconn scoring run of 15 points in Q3, only ended at the buzzer with Azzi's layup.

They each scored half the points for the team in a half.

To piggy back off of this….. I also feel when she was off the court, the flow just wasn’t the same

Seemed like only KK and Azzi showed up for work today.... I guess they get it by default.

The offensive possessions were painful to watch.

Neither Azzi, who played well in the first half nor Sarah who played well in the second half. Not quite good enough to be a BD.

I would say there's no BA this game, but if forced I would give it to KK.

I think we have become spoiled with Sarah's consistency game in and game out. Sometimes even the best players have an off night, or in Sarah's case, an off half.

Sarah came a little bit down to earth in the first half. In the second half, she shrugged off her slow start, and dominated the game -- basically putting the game away. Both offensively and defensively. I think the announcers said that she scored 17 straight points for
UCONN.

She didn't dwell on her off first half performance, she just focused on giving the team exactly what was needed.

That's a Bad Ass.

Azzi was the best payer out there today. But badass? I thought Kayleigh was done after getting hit before the 1/2. She’s so tough. Doesn’t need to score a point to meaningfully impact the game.

Azzi was great but I am giving my Badass vote to Sarah who did what she did going on a scoring tear while not yet fully healthy (per Geno).
That was one tough Badass performance.

Sarah was sweating buckets, had no hop in her legs and was clearly under the weather in the first half, but she shrugged all that off to play d (that block!), score at will, and rebound like the NPOY that she is. That kind of toughness is badass to the max.

After a day and night of celebrating my 32nd Anniversary, I was finally able to watch the Huskies replay. My badass award goes to the princess herself...Ms. Azzi.
