I was curious if Kiah Stokes is a victim of her nagging injury that has limited her play, or if it is more or less just her performance in and out of practice that limits her? She has looked impressive this season and then there are times when we have not seen her at all... So does anyonje have any ideas?

With Stewie coming on so strong, Geno has found a winning combination of Stewie in the middle and Tuck as a more mobile and versatile forward for those times when Stef needs a break or when he wants to go small(ish) for awhile. Tuck clearly knows how to attack and take initiative on offense, both from the perimeter and inside. Kiah, not so much yet. Certainly she is strong on the boards and on shot blocking but the offense does not flow as well when she is in there, at least not as well as when Morgan is on the floor.

Add to this Geno's tendency to shorten the rotation during the tournament and you basically have Stokes pencilled in for further development next year, IMO. I thought she would be key for the NCAAs but to this point the Stef/Stewie/Tuck combo is covering all the bases.

i have wondered all season why she does not get more playing time. I believe she would be a good contributer if given playing time.

You can be absolutely sure, given Stef's physical problems, that Kiah would be getting a lot of "relief" minutes if Geno had any reason to believe that she would be an adequate substitute even for a portion of the game. The fact that she has basically been glued to the bench in the last three games says that Geno does not have confidence in her. As several people have commented, her major problem is at the offensive end, where she does not consistently post up aggressively, fight through the physical play by the defense and make herself available as an alternative on every possession. The offensive scheme requires the center to do that, and Stef (even with physical limitations) is doing it better than Kiah has demonstrated that she will.

Also, when Stef is off the court, Stewart is doing a very good job at all of this when she plays center, which gives Geno even less reason to consider playing Kiah.

I think Kiah may play more tomorrow, depending on a few things. ND's defense is very aggressive. I would have been concerned that Kiah might have turned the ball over or been caught for a held ball. On defense, she might have stopped some of the cuts to the hoop.
