I watched her live at Mohegan for game #3 and it was a great deja vu moment.

She is still a defensive specialist working on blocks and distribution, I think she did a put back or two but otherwise did not look to score.

Kiah is a great complement to Aja, Plum and the Aces game strategy - only UConn alumni on the court.

Saw Aja in college and she looks completely fluid and comfortable in her mainstay role with Las Vegas.

The Sun clicked on all cylinders - after the first 8 minutes or so - and put up a dominant offensive show.

Easy tickets at Mohegan, I expect the same for Sunday's game for interested parties. Sun probably favored at home for Game 4 to force a deciding game at Vegas.

Always fun to see Rebecca Lobo too.

The Sun did stave off a sweep in game 3. I think the clock strikes 12 for Cinderella Sunday, and the post season magic carpet ride for the Sun comes to an end. The Aces prevail, Chelsea Gray is named the finals MVP, and Kiah Stokes adds a WNBA championship ring to her collection of championship memorabilia. :) I predicted the Aces in 4 before game 1.

I'm always happy for Kia Stokes, one of my favorites. If she could just muster some offense, she would
be really tough.

Kiah can and did score at Uconn and in her first team with the W. Kiah is a TEAM player, who could be a star, I think she's happy in her status. In any case, I'm a KIAH fan.

More extensive article with nice quotes

Former UConn women's basketball center Kiah Stokes says Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon reminds her of UConn coach Geno Auriemma. They push their players hard and demand near-perfection in practices.

The difference between the two?

"I would say Coach Auriemma yells a lot more," Stokes said Saturday before the Aces' practice. "Becky claims that she’s a yeller, but I don’t think she understands what Geno is really like."

"I go at Kiah hard at times and she just responds. … She’s like, ‘You’re nice compared to Geno.’ I was like, ‘I’m not going for nice,'" Hammon said. "If you got a UConn player, you know they’ve gone through the fire. You know they can handle truths."

Thats the problem with the new group of players who have come out of high school and college the past decade. They take things too personally and demand to be handled with kid gloves. It makes the players feel better, but it certainly hinders their development. We live in a new WBW today.

I called it........again. I’m on a roll. Congratulations to Becky Hammon, her staff, the players and of course the owners on winning this championship. Congratulations to our own Kiah Stokes on winning her first WNBA championship. Pardom me now as I take my victory lap. ;)

Good game, Vegas made it their tempo and seemed to take away the paint from the Sun bigs.

Part of that is a Kiah credit as her height clogged it up and seemed to stymie CT. Excellent complement to Aja.

Vegas led virtually the entire game, Sun tied a couple times late but just couldn't do it.

Vegas seems like a class act, they even credited Bill Lambeer at the awards ceremony for putting the team together.

Harder ticket than game #3, perhaps due to the weekend vs weekday. Could not buy a lower at the window, although many sold seats were empty.

I did look for our Huskie ladies, but did not see them from my vantage point. Hope to see them live in November.

I arrived in Las Vegas this afternoon. If there had been a game 5, we would have been there. I’m glad there won’t be. Serg, I’ll be in touch.

Great series to watch-high intensity. Aces clearly more talented , but Conn. battled to stay with them . Alyssa Thomas really hates to lose, with back-to-back triple doubles in final 2 games.

I thought Hammond moving Stokes into the starting lineup was the key for LV this season. She added defense to a startng lineup that already had enough offense. It allowed Hammond to come off the bench which needed scoring in its second unit. Created valuable defensive versatility on defense as well.

The smile of a champion. How sweet it is. ;) I gotta get 4 of those tee-shirts. All the females in my family want one including my 3 year old great-grand niece, who has already proclaimed that she is going to play basketball when she gets older.
