Tina is sitting this one out, after a procedure on her broken nose. Meanwhile, Kiah has 6 points in 6 minutes, including a pair of jumpers from 15' and 17' shot with no hesitation.

Did something happen to Moriah Jefferson? She only played 16 minutes, and only took a couple of shots. Did she get injured?

Not that I know of. Like Minnesota on Sunday, San Antonio was blown off the court in the first period by Washington. All of the Stars starters played limited (15-22) minutes. None of them scored in double-figures.

Maya had a slow first half with just 2 points. Then she made all 6 shots in the 3rd for 16 points and helped get Minny a 15-point lead. But the Lynx couldn't close out N.Y. and lost the last quarter by 23-11. It's in OT, which is common for the Liberty (4 of the past 5 and 6 overall this season).

New York goes up by 6. Maya hits a 3, then gets a steal. Minny down 3, with the ball and 14 seconds left in OT.

Congrats to the Liberty, winning a game at Minny without Tina. A useful growth moment for them as a team, with players taking over by necessity in Tina's absence.

As for Minny, well. Three straight losses. Back to the ol' drawing board. :D

Maya misses with a few seconds to go and then misses a desperation left hander at the buzzer.

Sugar Rogers had 30. I think that Sugar and Elizabeth Williams are the most improved players in the league.

This time last year, she would not have done that. This time next year, she'll jack those up without hesitation because she'll be more comfortable in doing so, have more confidence in her short range game, and she'll have a brighter green light. Kiah is getting better with every game. She's 3rd on the team in minutes played thru yesterday. She's earning her paycheck. Oh, and Laimbeer loves her. :D Carnac predicts: by the end of her 4th WNBA season, Kiah will be averaging a double-double.

Tip in.....did you see the performance Amanda Zauhi B turned in starting in place of Tina? 17 points / 9 rebounds. I love it. Go Kiah, Go Liberty.

As an aside - of course coach Reeve hates losing (like any coach or player does), but she REALLY hates losing to Bill !

Kinda like losing to Rex Ryan in the NFL.

Minny has lost 3 in a row. They seem to be confused and reeling. And IMHO, their guard play has been, in a word, bad.

AZB has a nice midrange jumper. It may take her a while, but I think she'll be a solid player.

Tiff made amends today with 32. And Stewie plays a little later.

Has Tiff settled in or what? She's not forcing anything. She lets the game come to her, and she's scoring within the flow of the game. She's not forcing shots up. She's getting a lot of open looks from beyond the arc, and she's knocking the down..........consistently. Go Tiff. It's good to see another UConn alum doing well in the W.

Tiff plays off Angel and is not the primary scorer, but she's a smart player and still has that great first step. She's a very capable WNBA player.
