Nice, and I was going to say that it's a nice pic of Tulsa's Ashley Clark for the story, but then I saw the situation in the background stands.

Ouch. What is going on there?

Well, if you go to a Tulsa game, you can probably get better seats than sitting behind the basket? Ouch indeed.

I'm a big fan of Jefferson, but I don't really get her as most improved for the whole conference. She was stellar last year.

.-.
So the only player of the first eight to not get an award is Saniya Chong. Hopefully, next year, she can get most improved...

Yes, she did make the 1st team AAC last year too. KML only made the 2nd team last year, so maybe she's the better choice for most improved, or at least most healthy.

It may be a good thing for the team. This way both Moriah and Kiah were recognized instead of slugging it out for their stellar defensive work.

She has improved but I agree, was it that radically that she would be the "most improved" over someone else. She is amazing but she wasn't too shabby last year, either.

.-.
Moriah is most improved from her freshman year. Her other improvement both this season and last season is from November-December to January-forward.

I didn't see the ECU game, but Taylor must be very good.

I can't argue with Courtney Williams being unanimous all-conference. She is impressive.

I like the appreciation for Kaleena and Moriah. They may be overshadowed by Stewie, but they are great in their own right.

Kaleena is the only senior on the 1st team. Interesting.

Kiah is THE Defensive POY.

What's the difference between Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year? Does the latter include transfers?

Yes, I believe that it does. In fact, I wonder if it also excludes freshman.

Well, it doesn't appear that they have one, but I nominate Morgan Tuck as the Comeback Player of the Year...

If you look at most of the all conference teams from around the country, they are short on Sr's. That class wasn't really a stellar class.

B1G has 1 of 10 on 1st team
Big 12 has 3 of 10 on 1st team
ACC has 3 of 10 on 1st team
PAC12 has 6 of 15 on 1st team
SEC has 4 of 10 on 1st team

Only PAC12 has a SR for POY.

There is a conventional wisdom that the senior class is weak. I think there is some truth to that, but I think it's exacerbated by the preceding class (Chiney, Odyssey, Alyssa, Bria, Stef, et al.) and the following class (Stewie, Moriah, Jewell, et al.) being stellar.

Obviously, the senior class represents only about 25% of the players. Of course, players improve over the course of their careers, so seniors are the most expensive. What do you think a typical senior class in WCBB would represent as a share of the AA and All-Conference teams? I'm guessing 40% or maybe a little higher.

Props to uconnwbb on Instagram for the graphics ...and to Kaleena, Stewie, and Morgan also. Maybe they will do one of the four feisty fan favorite firsties as well.

Um, I can't edit my post, but I meant that seniors are the most "experienced." Maybe they are the most "expensive" too. Damn autocorrect! :)

Freudian slip?
