I know Boneyarders don't quibble about height, but UCONN lists Kia as 6' and the Canadian roster has her at 5'10". Those Canadian practices must be tough to pound her down 2".

Wow Nurse got shorter!:p
Nurse, Kia

Guard

5'10"

Hamilton, ON

Elsewhere, Canada has her listed as 6'-0"...they seem a bit flexible...they also have Nirra Fields at 6'-2.5" elsewhere on their site...make that a "very" small 6'-3" ;)

I suspect the metric conversions are giving them a bit of difficulty...

She looks much shorter in that picture.
I think I read... since conversion to the metric system, Canadian kids are discouraged from using feet.

As with many basketball players she is taller in the morning, loses a couple inches as the day goes on.

I, for one, couldn't care less about her height , but back to the topic originally at hand, this is such a great experience for her, one that will benefit her game even before it's benefitted further under the coaching of Geno Auriemma!

You get taller as you move towards the equator.

Congrats Kia!!!

Is the Canada/US game on Monday??

Cant wait to see her in action.

:):):)

What's funny is (If you look at the entire Team Canada picture) the heights get more confusing. Even though the front players are on their knees Nurse looks taller than Nirra Fields, yet Fields is listed at 6'2-1/5" . Strange. Is there that big a disparity in their bodies from the knees to the feet?

Nirra Fields must have been wearing hockey skates to make 6'2"

It just occurred to me why our Canadian friends, almost overnight, seemed to lose their historic problem with inch-worms, but began complaining of centipedes.

Seems like a stretch, but we should probably all allow Ice some latitude.
. Additionally, what if you move closer to the Prime Meridian? We might need a longitudinal study to know for sure.

Geez, OK,… maybe your right. I’ve completely lost my bearings.

1. Cold contracts, eh?
2. It's colder in Canada than in the U.S., eh?
3. Duh.

Besides, Br'er Bear is right. As you move toward the equator, the centrifugal force to which you are exposed increases, as does the force of she Sun's gravity actiing upon you, thus causing you to stretch just a silly millimeter or two. Stands to reason.
