If the state really wants the University to play in a state owned facility rather than on campus to bolster Hartford economy, isn't it more logical simply not to have Connecticut charged for the use of the XL Center? Either way, the state foots the bill, and by not charging Connecticut are athletic departments balance sheet is improved by not including what is a de facto subsidy from the state of Connecticut to the city of Hartford.
