Very cool. I still laugh in disbelief at the crowd last year that kept saying the brand was down and we should continue to suck under Ollie because we couldn’t do any better. The brand is alive and well and things are going to erupt again within a few years!

Kershaw or a baked sophomore. How can we tell?

Other than his golden arm and bank account?

So true though. He looks like a kid still.

But did you read that SI article on him? He acts grown, there’s a reason he’s an all time great.

I find it amazing that so many people were sitting near the best pitcher of this generation and an all time great yet had absolutely no idea lol! The whole Hurley/Uconn shirt is pretty crazy coincidence. Or is it?

I sure wouldn't have. I never heard of the guy until this thread. I had to google him to find out who the hell he was.

You're joking right? Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball right now and has been for about the past 5+ years. He is pretty much guaranteed to be HOFer and he's only 30 and has a chance to be a 300 game winner if he avoids injuries.

He is an all time great and arguably the best pitcher of this generation

I didn’t know him either. I was hoping he was a 4-5* recruit when I saw the thread title. Baseball is passé.

I don't follow baseball. There are very few names of current players I would recognize.

The man flies coach on Southwest, makes about $30mm a year, is 6" 4" and doesn't even push his seat back.

Oh yeah, is a UConn fan. The brand isn't dead just hibernating but it will be back in a Hurley.

Baseball is dying is one of the biggest myths.

Baseball is thriving.

I don’t understand how. I literally only know one person that watches it and he’s gambling. I actually know one other guy but he’s 70, so I consider him a holdover from the past.

I guess everyone's perception is influenced by those around them, but I'm 31 and my Dad, all of my friends from home, college, and work all follow/watch baseball.

In general though, attendance is healthy (despite an early season sluggish start). MLB TV rights are doing well, and perhaps the biggest boon was MLB Advance Media.

With the Yankees, Sox, Astros, Cubs and Dodgers all set up for the long term in big markets, I'm buying baseball for the near and long term.

You only know 2 people who watch baseball? You either don't really know any people or I'm calling bullspit.
Baseball is in the middle of a renaissance. You'd have to be hanging out with a strange crowd if you don't know more than 2 people who watch baseball

I really don’t know many baseball fans. However, I’m in Florida. I remember baseball being a a big deal when living in CT, NY and MA, so maybe it’s just my perception is off given where I spend most of my time. I realize the Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs are always well followed but my feeling was that it is a dying sport overall. I guess I’m wrong. I know football and basketball fans almost exclusively and if they watch baseball, they don’t talk about it.

I think if there is a dying sport it’s football.
Dying? How about dominating?
P.S. All the Dan Hurley's in this list are actually the second games of double headers. The boneyard converted all the D....H initials to Dan Hurley when I pasted.
