Pretty ugly game. Kentucky keeps turning over the ball and neither team runs much of an organized offense.

It's Tenn 18 KY 15 with 7:13 left in the first half. The game is on the SEC network.

One point scored in the last 3 minutes - players hitting the bottom of the rim, throwing up airballs... They can't even hit free throws.

Until Kentucky gets an All American level talent at the Center position. They are pretenders to reach the Final Four and National Championship. Their frenetic and chaotic pace works against your average teams but when you start to play the elite teams, it doesn't work most of the time. They have got to improve their front court, especially at center. Can you see this Kentucky team matching up with UConn's front court? I don't.

Kentucky seems very undisciplined. It's a lot of one on one stuff. Izzy Harrison continues to impress but she doesn't get a lot of help.

They(UK) have a couple of freshmen post players, Rice & Jennings, that are young but look to have some talent. Plus they finally got an assistant coach that knows how to coach the bigs.

KY leads 26-24 after a flurry by both teams. There's 1:26 left in the half.

It's KY 31-25 at the half. I'm switching over to the UConn men at 8:00.

This is the same Kentucky team that lost to Duke (late December) by about 20, right? And also lost to <gasp> LSU a week or so ago???

You are right - they don't. UCONN faced them 2 years ago in the elite 8 - UCONN the 1 seed, Kentucky the 2 seed. Whenever any of the "experts" talked about the game, they got all giddy asking how on earth UCONN would handle 40 minutes of dread...

Final score - UCONN 83, Kentucky 53. I guess they handled it pretty well. My point is I haven't seen anything from them to indicate a rematch would be any different.

They lost one of their key guards or point guard in the So Car game in that ugly incident I think?

Pretty rough play in the last :30 or so. No fouls called. If we want to cling to the "let the players decide it" mantra, then why not give them pugil sticks or swords?

Completely agree. Kentucky was fouled multiple times around the basket and no calls in the last 30sec. It was almost like the refs wanted them to win it with a basket and not free throws.
