It's nice to get to watch him down here. He is really playing well, hopefully the cats can get some help for him in the offseason.

Actually, it was 34, 7, 9, plus a couple steals and a couple blocks. Stunning line. At 71 all, he used the same moves that we saw against McGhee two seasons ago to give the cats the lead. Rubbed the guard covering him off on a screen, got a big on him, ball faked him from the 3 point line to the foul line, then stepped back for the long deuce. Beautiful. At least this guy didn't fall down go boom.

Jeff had 6 points and Ben had 8, plus a gorgeous assist for an alley oop basket at the end of the game.

Truthfully, how many thought he would do this at this level? I have to admit, not me.

No reason to think he can't be the second guard on a contender. I've only watched him a handful of times this season, but it's amazing to me how much better he's gotten since his junior year at UConn. He has evolved as a player - instead of looking for his own offense on penetration, he looks to find his teammates. His low shooting percentage is a product of being the only guy on the team who can create his own offense at the end of the shotclock. If he was the lead guard off the bench on say, the Heat, he would shoot in the 45% range.

I thought he'd evolve into more of a pure point - maybe a 12-15 ppg, 6-8 apg kind of guy in the right situation, or an energy guy off the bench ala his freshman year on a more loaded team. Then Charlotte drafted him and the dynamic changed. Pieces around him were somewhat lacking, to be kind.

I was a bit worried after a subpar year one that Charlotte was the worst place for him to be, and that he might play behind Augustin (or Sessions) on a lousy team and his game wouldn't develop the way it needed to for him to be a marketable commodity. Then he earned the starting job and took a tremendous leap forward. His game can still evolve from here - maybe a few more 10 assist games as his teammates get better/older. A little more crunch time poise. But he's put the building blocks together for a long career.

Definitely needs to be surrounded by better players, but doing well with what he has to work with!

It's a pity he's buried on an absolutely dreadful team. Quite frankly, so are most of our alums.

Are we going to have a single starter on a playoff team this year?

I know he's not a starter, but I have a feeling Ray will play a key role for the Heat in these playoffs.
