Let's compare shall we..
First off what Kemba was able to do in 2011 was magical and as of right now put him on my list as favorite Uconn player ever. If Shabazz is able to come up big with a few buzzer beaters and leading us to #4 and getting a 2nd ring then my ranking of top husky ever might change.
Let's simply base this off stats.
Kemba 2nd to last year - 14.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5.1 apg, 33.9% 3p, 76.7 ft%, 40.3 fg%
Shabazz 2nd to last year - 17.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.6 apg, 39.8% 3p, 81.9% ft, 44.1 fg%
Kemba 4 games in of final yr - 30.3 ppg, 4.75 rpg, 3 apg, 35.7% 3p, 86.8 ft%, 51.3 fg%
Shabazz 4 games into final yr - 13.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 7.8 apg, 85.7% 3p, 84.2 ft%, 50 fg %
To summarize, very similar 2nd to last year stats with a edge to Shabazz. Final year is interesting almost opposites out of necessity really. Kemba had to put up points and create for himself (which he did very well) and with the amount of scorers this team has Shabazz has tuned down his point production some but has become more of a facilitator (Which he is doing very well). Both players took their roles by the horns so to speak and only time will tell if history in the form of a point guard led title will repeat itself.
