Maybe because UConn is not affiliated with UA? You don't see many commercials like that that mention college athletics.
Really good piece, can't understand why they wouldn't say "I lead UConn" at the very beginning. The paranoid in me thinks it's because Maryland-centric UA doesn't want to give UConn any props.
There certainly would be no reason why someone couldn't say, "I lead UConn."
I'm sure it's just because UConn is a Nike school, not a UA school. It's the same reason Ray and Rip's "Become Legendary" commercials both feature other Nike schools as opponents. (Syracuse for Ray, Washington for Rip).
